Agate spring

Agate spring is located on the east side of Heihu spring and on the South Bank of the moat. The pool is 3.7 meters long, 3.2 meters wide and 2.2 meters deep. It is surrounded by stone blocks and three pools in the northeast and West are built in the moat. When it's full of water, several springs are surging, and strings of bubbles emerge from the bottom of the pool. Under the sunlight, they are dazzling, like agate. After the spring overflowed, it flowed into the moat river from six square holes 0.5 meters above the river.

The origin of agate spring

The agate spring named after agate is naturally as brilliant as agate.

Agate is a kind of colorful gem. It is said that there are thousands of agates and thousands of jades.

Agate spring, the brightness dazzles the eyes. The sun is shining. The spring is filled with springs, and the bubbles are rising from the bottom of the pool.

According to the local investigation records of Licheng County in the Republic of China, agate spring is located in the east of Heihu spring and on the South Bank of the moat. The spring is 3.7 meters long, 3.2 meters wide and 2.2 meters deep. The water bubbles overflowing from the bottom are like agate flowing in the river.

The legend of agate spring

On the South Bank of the moat, to the east of Heihu spring, about 50 meters away from Heihu spring, there is a spring source. It is surrounded by stone blocks. Bubbles come out from the bottom of the pool. When the sun shines, it looks like agate. Therefore, it is named agate spring (according to the local investigation record of Licheng County in the Republic of China). Its spring water flows into the moat from the stone cave on the north wall.

According to legend, a long time ago, not far from heihuquan in Jinan, there was a steamed bun shop. The owner was Wang Zhong, and he had a daughter named lotus. Father and daughter are kind and charitable. One new year's Eve, their father and daughter helped the father and son of Donghai Dragon King, who were trapped in private visits. In order to repay her kindness, the Dragon King of the East China Sea presented Wang Zhong with an agate pearl; the Dragon son presented the lotus with a lute and taught her to play the fairy song "three ways of dragon singing".

Later, when the magistrate learned about it, he came to the father's and daughter's home to rob the jewel. The jewel fell to the ground, turned into an agate spring, and flooded the Yamen.

Main attractions

Manao spring ranked 27th among the 72 newly selected springs in Jinan in April 2004. In the high water season, several springs rush to spray, and a series of bubbles emerge from the bottom of the pool, and rise up unsteadily. Under the sunlight, they present a colorful, dazzling and agate like scene. Old Jinan people said that this is the reason why agate spring has such a beautiful name.
