Huangshi Museum
Huangshi City Museum, the first museum in Huangshi, was built and opened on October 1, 1979. It has always been based on the archaeological findings of the ancient mining and metallurgy site in Tonglushan. It fully shows the ancient superb mining and smelting technology, reflects the profound historical and cultural heritage and unique local cultural characteristics.
Since the mid-1990s, due to the limitations of planning and geographical location at that time, Huangshi Museum has been difficult to play its role of collection, display and research. Until 1999, Huangshi Municipal government officially established a new Huangshi Museum, which is located on the east side of the people's square of Tuanchengshan in Huangshi City. It officially started construction on December 28, 2004, and opened to the public free of charge on December 29, 2008.

December 29, 2008 the new Museum covers a total area of 20.58 mu, with a total construction area of 6141.27 square meters. It has a three story frame structure and is a museum with the theme of bronze culture. The square, diamond and round exterior structure perfectly combines and stands out from all angles. The mountain is embedded in the back, which is integrated into the environment without too large volume, giving the museum a strong sense of sculpture. It not only adapts to the terrain skillfully, but also endows the main body "Chinese seal" with the spirit of softness. The glass box in the center of the museum is the lighting well of the central hall, which has a clear orientation. Every time the audience has seen an exhibition hall, they will go through this open and bright transition space, which is not easy to get lost and will reduce fatigue. All the corridors are viewed from the interior through grooves and lighting belts to form a view. The surrounding beautiful landscape has been carefully "cut" into beautiful paintings. Some of them are part of the museum's exhibits. The museum itself is one of the best works of art. The rich mineral resources and long history and culture of mining and metallurgy in Huangshi area have made outstanding contributions to the emergence of Chinese bronze culture and the development of metallurgy. With the theme of "mining and metallurgy", Huangshi Museum has grasped the most essential characteristics in the process of Huangshi history, which is an exhibition with distinctive personality and local characteristics.
