Shuangjiang ancient town

Shuangjiang ancient town belongs to Tongnan District of Chongqing city. It is located in the economic hinterland of Chengdu and Chongqing. It is adjacent to Fujiang River and canal in front of it. Courtyard gardens with Qing Dynasty characteristics are scattered everywhere. It is located in the downstream of Fujiang River, a tributary of Jialing River. It is the hometown of President Yang Shangkun. Shuangjiang ancient town has won the honors of Chongqing's top ten historical towns, China's first batch of top ten historical towns, national historical and cultural towns, Chongqing's top ten quality tourism projects and Chongqing's red tourism line. In December 2018, Shuangjiang ancient town scenic spot was approved as a national 4A scenic spot.

The ancient town was built in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, with a history of more than 400 years. Nowadays, there are nine streets, namely middle street, East Street, Shangxi street, Xiaxi street, South Street, North Street, Xinglong Street, shuixiangzi street and laozhuxiang street, which are different from the streets formed by other ancient towns, but crisscross, forming the unique characteristics of Shuangjiang ancient town. There are more than 20 large-scale ancient dwellings with the architectural style of Qing Dynasty dwellings in the ancient town, such as "Yuwang Palace", "Qing Dynasty dwellings", "Xinglong Street courtyard", "yuantaihe courtyard", "post office courtyard (i.e. Yang Shangkun's and Yang Angong's old residence)", "Changtan sishitang" and "Huimin Palace", which are praised as "rare Qing Dynasty dwellings" and "Qing Dynasty Street" by experts.

History of ancient town

On March 31, 1927, a protest against the British and American imperialist shelling of the Chongqing citizens' Congress in Nanjing was organized. It was bloody suppressed and slaughtered by the reactionary warlords, killing and injuring thousands of people. This is the "331" tragedy in Chongqing. Yang Angong was arrested on April 4 and died in futuguan, Chongqing, on April 6 at the age of 29. After liberation, he built an exhibition hall in his hometown for people to admire. Shuangjiang is the hometown of martyr Yang anggong and the fourth president Yang Shangkun. It has a long history, rich products, unique landscape and many celebrities. The main scenic spots include the exhibition of the former residence and life story of martyr Yang anggong and Yang Shangkun, senior KMT generals Bai Chongxi, general Qiu and Chiang Kai Shek Xingyuan, as well as the eight landscapes of "Shuangjiang ancient charm", which is known as one of the "Ten Little scenic spots in Chongqing". There are two provincial-level cultural relics protection units, four county-level scenic spots, three first-class scenic spots, five second-class scenic spots and seven third-class scenic spots, totaling 15.

Yang Shangkun's former residence

Yang Shangkun's former residence is located in Jinlong Village, Shuangjiang Town, Tongnan District, Chongqing City, also known as "sizhitang" and "ChangTanzi courtyard". It is the birthplace of the fourth president of the state Yang Shangkun. The compound was built in 1862 in Tongzhi of Qing Dynasty, about 150 years ago. In 2006, on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Yang Shangkun, with the approval of the Party Central Committee, ChangTanzi compound was named "the former residence of Comrade Yang Shangkun". The former residence covers a total area of about 10000 square meters, the compound covers an area of 2800 square meters, the building area is 2400 square meters, and there are 39 houses. With exquisite materials, exquisite carvings and unique design, the courtyard can be regarded as a wonderful work of ancient residential buildings. Inside the old residence is a large-scale exhibition of historical pictures and cultural relics - "exhibition of Yang Shangkun's life and achievements", which is divided into 10 parts according to Comrade Yang Shangkun's life experience: joining the revolution, before and after studying abroad, leading the long march of the Ministry, anti Japanese war in North China, Yan'an years, working hard for the construction of new China, at the forefront of reform and opening up, actively exploring the road of military construction in the new era, serving as the president of the state Love is always there. Through more than 400 precious historical photos, more than 150 pieces of cultural relics and documents, and a number of film and television documentaries, the brilliant life of Comrade Yang Shangkun is fully displayed.

Yang Shangkun cemetery

Yang Shangkun cemetery is located in Weixing village, Zitong sub district office, Tongnan District, Chongqing. In April 1999, the construction of Yang Shangkun cemetery started. On May 18, 2001, Yang Shangkun's ashes were buried in his hometown. The cemetery includes parking lot, Mausoleum Road, management room, memorial square, statue, tomb, tomb screen, green belt, back mountain Miss forest, etc., with a total land area of more than 30 mu, including 2399 square meters of parking lot and Mausoleum Road, 1801.6 square meters of square, and 3294 square meters of green area.

The tomb area is just a step up from the memorial square. The tombs are made of white marble. The emerald green granite wreath is embedded on the top of the tombs. The cover stone of the tombs is a whole piece of white marble, engraved with the year of Shang Kun's birth and death (1907-1998). Exhibition hall of Yang Angong's former residence

The exhibition hall of yangangong's former residence is a Chinese style building, which has three layers. QianDian shop was a postal agency in Tongnan County from the end of Qing Dynasty to the liberation of Tongnan County. It was operated by the Yang family. Behind the shop is a patio. On the left side of the patio is the library. It is where Yang Angong and his younger brothers and sisters study. Under the guidance and influence of Yang Angong, most of Yang's brothers and sisters embarked on the revolutionary road. Yang Shangkun, the fifth younger brother, Yang Baibing, the eleventh younger brother, Yang Hengshi, the second elder brother, Yang Shanghua, the sixth younger brother, Yang Jiujun, the sixth younger sister, and Yang Bailin, the ninth younger sister, are all members of the Communist Party.

The exhibition hall is a small patio with bedrooms on both sides. There are three Diaries of Yang Yingong preserved by Zhao Zongkai, his wife. In the picture on display, there is a full body portrait of Yang Yingong's sacrifice in 1927, with torn lips, sunken eyes and empty sleeves. It can be seen that the reactionary warlords tortured him cruelly. In the face of the enemy's torture, he justly rebuked the enemy: "you can only cut off my head, can't shake my faith!
