Loquat Mountain Park

Loquat Mountain Park

Loquat mountain park is located on Loquat mountain, Zhongshan 2nd Road, Yuzhong District, central Chongqing, with an altitude of 345 meters. The origin of the name

As for the origin of the mountain name of Pipa mountain, one is that it was named because there were many Pipa trees planted on the mountain; the second is that the shape of the mountain is similar to the Chinese musical instrument "Pipa"; the third is that it is said that once upon a time, a beautiful girl lived on the mountain, playing Pipa every night to call her lover on the south bank. The music is more and more wonderful, and later generations miss it.

Main attractions

Red Star Pavilion

Located at the top of Mount loquat, it is the highest point of the park. It was built in 1955. It is a double octagonal pavilion, covering an area of about 130 square meters. Standing in the pavilion, you can have a bird's-eye view of the whole Yuzhong Peninsula. It is a good place to watch the night view of the mountain city.

Fuyuan

It is located in the middle of the mountain top, covering an area of about 2000 square meters. There are long corridors, single pavilions, pools, Pipa girls and other scenic spots. The park is full of green trees and lush, pavilions, water pavilions and winding paths. It is a good place for leisure.

There are many kinds of plants in the garden, with complete varieties and shady trees. It is the green land of Yuzhong District, the main oxygen supply center of the main urban area, and has the reputation of Yuzhong District's lungs. It's also a good place to enjoy the night view of the mountain city.

Wang Yuan

Before liberation, loquat Mountain Park was the private residence of Wang LINGJI, chairman of Sichuan provincial government, named "Wang Yuan", which was nationalized after liberation. There is an interesting story about becoming a park. Just after liberation, Chongqing municipal Party committee had no place to work, and temporarily worked in "Wangyuan". Later, Chongqing municipal Party committee moved out to open another place to work. Comrade Deng Xiaoping instructed that it should be transformed into a park and be open to the people. After the government invested in the reconstruction in 1955, it was transformed into a park.
