Lukong town (Wanling ancient town)

Lukong Town, also known as Wanling Town, covers an area of 24 square kilometers, facing the winding Laixi River in the southwest and rolling hills in the northeast. The market is built close to the mountains and is known as "small mountain city". It is one of the first named historical and cultural towns in Chongqing.

After thousands of years of vicissitudes, the ancient town still retains its unique style. The mottled ancient city wall and gate; the antique water transport wharf; the simple and elegant ancestral hall of Zhao and dafudi; the precious tombs of Han Dynasty and Thousand Buddha grottoes of Song Dynasty; the ancient temples, bridges and trees; and the beautiful folk legends and allusions one after another all permeate the rich cultural connotation of the ancient town.
