Deyang Museum
Deyang City Museum is located in lane 11, Wenmiao lane, South Street, Deyang City. It is built on the basis of the construction of Deyang Confucian temple. It was established on July 17, 1984. It is a branch level institution with 21 institutions.
Development history
The museum is located in the Confucius Temple in Deyang. Confucius Temple was first built in 1206, the second year of Kaixi in the Southern Song Dynasty. It was relocated in 1368, the first year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty. It was destroyed by soldiers in the late Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. It was overhauled in 1848 and completed in 1855.
Deyang City Museum was officially established in 1984, under the Cultural Bureau of Deyang City.
architectural composition
The Confucius Temple is composed of a courtyard system with three entrances. From south to north, it is in the order of Wanren palace wall (Zhaobi), Lingxing gate, panchi, Dacheng gate, lile Pavilion, Dacheng hall and Qisheng hall. On both sides are: East and West veranda, East and west side hall, provincial animal house, gengguan Pavilion, God kitchen, God storehouse, etc. There is a square in front of the temple and a back garden in the north of the temple. Confucius Temple is the largest Confucius Temple in Sichuan Province, covering an area of 28000 square meters and a construction area of 3084 square meters.
In the east room is the exhibition of Confucius' disciples 72 sages. According to historical records, Confucius had 3000 disciples, among whom 72 were excellent academicians and proficient in the six arts. In the first part of the exhibition, words, figures and pictures are used to summarize the situation of the 72 sages. The second part introduces the music and dance scenes of offering sacrifices to Confucius in Chinese history and modern imitation of the ancients, as well as the existing situation of Confucius temples in various places.
Achievement and honor
The plan for the protection of Deyang Confucian temple was compiled and reported to the State Administration of cultural relics; the environment of the Confucian temple was renovated according to the requirements of the plan to restore the style and features of the temple in the Qing Dynasty.
In 2003, he was awarded the advanced collective of cultural heritage system by the Provincial Bureau of cultural relics.
