Niru Village
Niru village is one of the world natural heritage sites with three parallel rivers (Nujiang River, Lancang River and Jinsha River). It is located in the northeast of Shangri La City, Diqing Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It faces Dongni township of Daocheng County and exi township of Muli County across the river in the East, Yanluo Village of Luoji township of Shangri La city in the south, Jiantang town of Shangri La city in the West and Daocheng town of Sichuan Province in the north Yading township of Shangri La County is bordered by GEZAN township of Shangri La city. With a total area of 446 square kilometers, Niru village governs four natural villages: nyong, Wuyong, Tanggu and Pula. The whole village has 108 households and 650 people. All of them are Tibetans. Because of its rich ecological tourism potential, Niru village is known as "the first ecological village in the world".
On December 31, 2019, it was rated as the national rural governance demonstration village.
Basic information
Niru village is located in Luoji Township, Shangri La City, Yunnan Province, covering an area of about 80 square kilometers, with an altitude of only 2705 meters. It is a rare secret place. It governs three villager groups of nizhong, Baizhong and Pula, with 643 people from 106 Tibetan families. Tibetans work at sunrise and rest at sunset. They dress up their homes with grass and seedlings like green flame, cattle, sheep, chickens and ducks like chorus members, endless cooking smoke and dreams. They live a leisurely life of "children and children sing in song, white opera, happy and happy".
Natural characteristics
Niru is located in Niru village, Luoji Township, northeast of Shangri La City, Yunnan Province. It is 75 km away from the county, 2705 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains. The annual average temperature is 20 ℃, and the rainfall is 5800 mm. The rainy season is mainly from June to October. The mountains around Niru are clear and gloomy, and the primeval forests block out the sun. Because of the low altitude, the plants grow luxuriantly. There are lots of birch forests growing in autumn. Picea and Abies in the mountains are tall and strong, pointing straight to the clouds, with dense green canopy, which can shelter from the wind and rain. Musk deer, bear, Tibetan pheasant, lynx and other rare animals inhabit in the forest.

Local Customs
Niru village maintains a relatively primitive folk customs. Every year, there are horse racing, bullfighting, singing and dancing, and God worship activities in the "dengba Festival" in July and the "horse racing festival" in October.

2. It takes about three days to cross Nanbao ranch and dijitang ranch. Many steep mountain sections need to be dismounted and walked, and most of them are above 3800 meters above sea level, so we should be prepared for hardship.
3. There are only a few lodging spots on the mountain, most of which are wooden and stone huts where herdsmen rest temporarily when grazing. It is suggested to bring your own tent, sleeping bag, and enough supplies, especially high calorie food, Rhodiola and other drugs to alleviate altitude reaction.
4. The terrain in the mountain is complex, so it's better not to leave the guide and act alone.
