In 1932, it was donated by the Central Army Academy of officers of the Kuomintang. Liuhuixie is facing water on three sides and land on one side. It is connected with land by stone steps. The top is a roll shed type, covered with milky white glazed tiles and red columns. All of them are reinforced concrete structures, which are very solid.
The floor of the pavilion is decorated with red ceramic tiles, and the pavilion is built with a concrete column. Visitors can sit and rest, or look at the scenery of the lakes and mountains with the column. There is a big lawn in front of the pavilion, where many parents play with their children.
Liuhuixie
Liuhuixie, also known as Shuixie Pavilion, is located in Zhongshan scenic area, Zijinshan mountain, Xuanwu District, Nanjing, on the south side of Zhongshan Mausoleum Linggu Temple highway. The top is made of opal glazed tiles and green columns; the three sides are facing the water, and the clear water is like a mirror, reflecting the waterside pavilion, which is very interesting.
Historical evolution
In 1932, the central army military academy donated 20000 yuan to build a memorial building in Zhongshan Mausoleum park. After Lin Sen approved, he built liuhuixie with 11000 yuan and Yongfeng society with 90000 yuan. The predecessor of the central army academy is Huangpu Military Academy. Marshal Xu Qianqian is the first graduate of Huangpu Military Academy. Marshal Xu Qianqian inscribed a plaque for liuhuixie.
On June 16, 1986, on the 62nd anniversary of the founding of Huangpu Military Academy, the students of Huangpu Military Academy in Nanjing came here after paying a visit to Zhongshan Mausoleum to unveil the plaque for "liuhuixie".
Architectural form
Liuhuixie was designed by Gu Wenyu, a cemetery Engineer at that time. It faces the water on three sides and the land on one side. It is connected with the land by stone steps. The top is a roll shed type, covered with milky white glazed tiles and red columns. All of them are reinforced concrete structures, which are very strong. The pavilion is 14 meters long and 10 meters wide. The floor of the pavilion is covered with red tiles. There is a concrete column in the pavilion and a 1-meter-high railing around it. Visitors can take a rest or look at the scenery of the lakes and mountains.
Design build
Liuhuixie was originally located in a ditch where the rain water flowed in Zijin Mountain, which was called Erdaogou. After the completion of Zhongshan Mausoleum in those years, Lin Sen, then chairman of the Design Committee of the mausoleum landscape, thought that there was a lack of waterscape in Zhongshan Mausoleum area. He saw Erdaogou, where the mountains and rivers were deep and wide, and the environment was beautiful. After reconstruction, the lake was built to store water, which would certainly add color to Zhongshan Mausoleum.
So he personally planned to widen the road leading to Linggu Temple, digging a pond in the north and south of the road. The North pond is smaller, covering an area of more than two mu; the South pond is larger, covering more than 20 mu, and is named Liuhui lake. A dam is built at the outlet of the pond. When there is a lot of rain, the water will flow over the dam. When there is drought, the pond will not dry up, so that the water level in the pond will be maintained throughout the year. In addition, flowers and trees are planted all around the pond, and water lilies are planted in the pond, making it a beautiful scenic spot in Zhongshan Mausoleum park.
