Sheyang Island Park is located by the beautiful Sheyang River in Sheyang County, Jiangsu Province. It is adjacent to Xixin temple in the East, Mingda college in the south, Sheyang River in the West and offshore resort across the river in the north. The total area of the park is 73 hectares.

Liu Bang, Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty, ascended the throne and granted Xiang Bo the title of "Sheyang Marquis" who had made great contributions to the rescue of Xiang Bo at the "Hongmen banquet". The fiefs were located in Baoying and Yancheng, the upper reaches of the Sheyang River. The sound of "Xieyang" and "Sheyang" was close, so "Xieyang River" gradually evolved into "Sheyang River".

In spring, all kinds of fruit trees are in full bloom, full of flowers and beautiful scenery; in summer and autumn, yellow and red fruits are full of branches. There are reeds, thatch, willows and locust trees in the sand mounds, which are the habitat of rabbits and pheasants. The temple house was in disrepair for a long time and became a dangerous house. Later, it was completely demolished. In early 1993, with the approval of the people's Government of Sheyang County, 9.9 mu of land was allocated for reconstruction. At the end of the same year, the Sansheng hall, the Tathagata hall, the guest hall, the Zhaitang hall, and the Liaofang hall were completed, and the main hall, the heavenly king hall, the Luohan hall, the Jade Buddha tower, the Sutra collection hall, and the pagoda are under construction.
