Macao art museum is located in Xian Xinghai road. It is the only art museum in Macao under the jurisdiction of Macao Municipal Council. The museum collects Chinese paintings, seals, western paintings, ceramics, bronzes and other works of art and cultural relics to welcome Chinese and foreign audiences with a new look. It has held many art exhibitions.
Macao Art Museum
Macao Art Museum, located in Xian Xinghai Road, opened on March 19, 1999, is located in Macao Cultural Center of new port area, with a total area of 10192 square meters. It is the only art museum in Macao under the jurisdiction of Macao Municipal Council. The museum collects Chinese paintings, seals, western paintings, ceramics, bronzes and other works of art and cultural relics with collection and research value to welcome Chinese and foreign audiences with a new look. There have been many art exhibitions.

Macao Art Museum has five floors and five exhibition halls
. The underground is a library with art related books and audio books. The sun shines through the clear floor glass into the quiet library. It's really a good place for thinking and creation.
The first floor is the lecture hall, which can accommodate more than 100 people, equipped with slide, video and other projection equipment. Located on the other end of the third floor is the history exhibition hall, where all the paintings on display are mainly for export, such as western paintings. On the second floor and the third floor, there is a special exhibition hall. In addition to displaying the works of art collected by the museum, there are also regular special exhibitions. Most of the works on display are borrowed from other regions or artists. Located on the fourth floor, the Chinese painting and calligraphy Museum and the Chinese ceramics museum are all treasures.
Architecture
Macao Museum of art is a five storey building with five exhibition halls, including the Chinese painting and calligraphy Museum and the Chinese Ceramics Museum on the fourth floor. There are two special exhibition halls on the second and third floors respectively. Macao Art Museum has five exhibition halls and two exhibition halls. The long-term collections include Chinese painting and calligraphy Museum, Chinese Ceramics Museum, early Western painting and Macao art works; in addition, Macao art museum also regularly cooperates with cultural institutions or artists in other countries and regions to hold different types of exchange exhibitions and special exhibitions. Exhibits
The collection of Macao Art Museum mainly comes from the former Jameson Museum and the collection and purchase over the years. The important collection series include pottery and stone tools unearthed from Heisha Archaeology in Macao, Guangdong calligraphy and painting in Ming and Qing Dynasties, seal cutting by famous Guangdong Artists, Shiwan Ceramics, 19th century western painting (historical painting) in Macao and its adjacent areas, Macao modern art, poster design, photography, etc Among the precious cultural relics and artworks, the wonderful ceramic sculptures of Shiwan figures in Guangdong is one of the most important collection series in the world. The early western paintings, Macao modern art, poster design, photography and other series are the best reflection of Macao's history, culture and art development.

Theme: 24 paintings by local artists. All the exhibits are from the collection of Art Museum. This group of audiences are faced with novel and enlightening artistic creation, which deeply shows the artists' unique experience of life and has become one of the important cultural symbols of Macao.
Macao landscape Watercolor Exhibition time: July 29, 2008 to December 31, 2008
Venue: exhibition area on the third floor
Theme: the exhibition displays nearly 20 Macao style watercolor paintings by local painters. The theme of the works is to depict Macao's customs and scenery in the past, so that the audience can appreciate the changes of the small city in the past half a century through the scenery in the paintings.

Venue: special exhibition hall on the second floor
Theme: the exhibition displays the latest works of the graduate students of traditional Chinese Painting Department of Sichuan Academy of fine arts and their tutor Professor Feng bin. The work takes the current life as the starting point, takes the modern visual elements as the theme, combines with the techniques of deformation, distortion and exaggeration, uses the traditional techniques and media, integrates the contemporary thinking mode to establish a new direction of Chinese painting, and tries to expand the boundary of Chinese ink painting.

Theme: The Art Museum and the Museum of modern art of Shanghai Zhengda have cooperated for the first time to jointly hold the "refresh - Macao Shanghai Young Artists Exchange Program" to promote the creative exchange of young artists between the two places. The exhibition shows eight installations and paintings in the exchange program, presenting the audience with a new generation of creation in different cultural backgrounds.
Centennial heart painting: Exhibition of famous calligraphy in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China from July 2, 2008 to August 24, 2008
Location: fourth floor
Theme: this exhibition shows the calligraphy and calligraphy of famous people in the military, political, literary, artistic and academic circles from the 30th year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty to the 38th year of the Republic of China (1850-1949), including Sun Yat Sen, Lin Zexu and Kang Youwei. The audience can get a glimpse of the history of people from all walks of life in the past 100 years, and have a more intuitive understanding of this important history.

Theme: in order to encourage students to create and show their achievements to the public, the museum specially solicits works from print studio students. More than 30 selected students' works are exhibited in this exhibition, reflecting the creative outlook of the local print art lovers.
Shiwan Ceramics Exhibition time: May 15, 2008 to August 24, 2008
Venue: China Ceramics Museum on the fourth floor
Theme: Shiwan tile ridge pottery sculpture is the representative of Lingnan folk architectural decoration art in the late Qing Dynasty. They often use historical stories, myths and legends, and even popular Cantonese Opera in Guangdong as their themes, and use three-dimensional ceramic sculpture or deep relief to express their content, which is full of Lingnan folk interest.
