Jinfeng Temple
Jinfeng temple is located in the northwest east foot of the southwest of Gaoping City. It was founded in the Northern Wei Dynasty. It was called chongguoyuan and lingyanyuan in ancient times. It was once one of the three major temples in Gaoping City. The temple sits in the West and faces the East. It was built according to the mountain situation. At present, there are yuan, Ming and Qing buildings with four courtyards. The central axis is the mountain gate, the front hall, the middle hall and the back hall. The middle hall is a Yuan Dynasty building with three square rooms and a Xieshan roof. On the West Pavilion of the temple, there is a gold statue of Maitreya Buddha. When the bright moon rises to the East, it is just aimed at the Buddha's belly. It is really a wonder. Outside the temple, there is a clear pool with moon shadow. It is clear and considerable. In the old days, it was called "Jinfeng night moon", one of the Eight Sights in Gaoping.
Architectural pattern
The temple was first built in the Jin Dynasty. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, Yuan Bian, the son of Jun Xiang, raised money to rebuild it. In the ninth year of Emperor Qianlong and the seventh year of Xianfeng, it was expanded and repaired successively, becoming a building complex with three courtyards in the East and the West.
The founding date of the temple is unknown. At present, there are yuan, Ming and Qing buildings with four courtyards. The central axis is the mountain gate, the front hall, the middle hall and the back hall. The middle hall is a Yuan Dynasty building with three square rooms and a Xieshan roof. Dongyuan was the first main temple. The mountain gate, Xian hall, thousand Buddha Hall and many other halls are located on the North-South central axis from front to back. There are 6 original auxiliary halls in the East and West, but only the West and the East are destroyed.
There are three gates, three in width and three in depth. On the top of the hard mountain, five arches are laid, and one is added. The inscription on the inner beam reads "a South Hall was rebuilt in Daji, Shangliang on February 28, the 10th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty.".
The South Hall has a width of 3 rooms, a depth of 4 rafters, a hard top, and a "Dou Dou Er Sheng" Dou Gong. The inscription on the east wall is "the great auspicious beginning on July 24, the seventh year of Xianfeng, Qing Dynasty, the great auspicious ending on August 15, Changyuan, Zhang Zhumao".
The main hall is 3 rooms wide, 8.54 meters. Depth: 4 rafters, 7.32m. The foundation of the platform is built with red sand and stone, with a height of 1.27 meters. There are four capitals, one for each. 45 ° inclined arch is used in open space. The whole Dougong is made of huge materials and simple style, retaining the shape of Jin Dynasty. The beam frame structure is composed of four beam pairs, which are pulled forward and backward, without crossing beams.
There are three caves in the West courtyard. For the pavilion, East and West rooms 6. Since 1966, the pavilions have been converted into classrooms, and the furnished rooms have been converted into kitchens. The original stage and back hall of the central courtyard were destroyed by the Yaqian tower.
Jinfeng temple is also known as shuituo temple. During the Longqing period of the Ming Dynasty, the temple was flooded, and monk Nengfa's coupons and money presided over the construction of a 120 meter long culvert in the central courtyard. In memory of this project, it was changed into shuituo temple, and later its original name was restored. During the reign of Kangxi, the temple had 140 halls and houses, with nearly 100 monks, making it the largest temple in Baode.

Jinfeng temple was destroyed by fire, and was rebuilt on a large scale in Yuan Dynasty. The temple faces east from the West and is built according to the mountain. It has four courtyards. The existing buildings are: Mountain Gate, Leiyin hall, seven Buddha Hall, back hall, side hall, monk hall, wing room, etc., totaling more than 80. The gate is three rooms wide, with a suspended mountain roof. In front of the gate, there is a brick couplet: "the moon on the golden peak is like a lamp, and the cloud in the stone room is the curtain.". Leiyin hall is a building of Yuan Dynasty, with five rooms wide, eight rafters deep and single eaves hanging on the top of the mountain. In the hall, the method of reducing columns is used. The beam structure is composed of four rafters, and four columns are used to connect the front and back breast eaves. The seven Buddha Hall is a peak with double eaves. It is five rooms wide, eight rafters deep, five columns and Dougong. It is said that there is a Buddha statue of Maitreya in the temple. Whenever the bright moon rises to the East, the moon just shines on the Buddha's drum belly. The golden light shines everywhere and the palace is full of radiance. It's really a wonder. The "Golden Peak Night Moon", one of the eight scenic spots in Gaoping, comes from this. There is a stone tablet rebuilt in the Yuan Dynasty in the temple. On the back, there is a genealogy of the ancestors of Chongguo temple. On the front, the inscription says, "Gaoping is the place where Shennong tasted grain.".
In 1997, in order to develop Gaoping's tourism industry, the municipal government decided to build Xishan Park with Jinfeng temple as the main body, which is one of the eight construction projects of the municipal government. After two years of construction, the Jinfeng temple has been fully repaired and many scenic spots have been added. Jinfeng temple takes on a new look. Many statues are added in the room. The courtyard is clean and beautiful. At present, there are more than 20 monks living there, and there is an endless stream of tourists.

Jinfeng temple, also known as Lingyan courtyard, is located at the east foot of Xishan Mountain, 1km southwest of Gaoping City. On January 12, 1996, it was announced as the third batch of provincial key cultural relics protection units by Shanxi Provincial People's government. According to the existing inscriptions of the Yuan Dynasty, the temple was founded in 1163 (the third year of Jin Dading) and then destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt in 1334 (the second year of Yuan Dynasty) and rebuilt in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Sit West to East, three into the courtyard. It is 70 meters wide from east to west and 130 meters long from north to south, covering an area of 9100 square meters. On the central axis are: Mountain Gate, Leiyin hall, seven Buddha Hall, Dabei hall, corridor and veranda on the left and right of the front yard, dizang hall and Luohan hall on the left and right of the middle yard, ear hall on the left and right of the back yard, etc.
Leiyin hall, the main building, was founded in Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The stone platform is 1.63 meters high. The hall is five rooms (21.7 meters) wide and eight rafters (17 meters) deep. It is suspended on the top of the mountain. It has a tube board, a cloth tile roof and a glass ridge decoration. Eight beams, four rafters, four rafters, four columns and five dougongs are used to build the eaves. It was rebuilt in Ming and Qing Dynasties. In front of the rafters, there is a plate door in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, and there is a straight lattice window in the middle.
