Dayun courtyard, Pingshun

Dayun courtyard, also known as "Dayun Temple", is a national key cultural relics protection unit. Located 23 kilometers northwest of Pingshun County, beidanche Township Shihui village is located in beilong'er mountain, surrounded by mountains on three sides and zhangshui in the south. It is densely wooded and secluded. The temple was founded in 938, the third year of Jin Tianfu in the Five Dynasties, and was initially named Xianyan temple. In the first year of Zhou Xiande in the Five Dynasties (954), seven pagodas were built outside the temple. During the Jianlong period of the Northern Song Dynasty, there were more than 100 halls.

Dayun courtyard, also known as "Dayun Temple". According to the inscriptions, the temple was founded in 938, the third year of Jin Tianfu in the Five Dynasties, with the initial name of "Xianyan Temple".

history

In the fifth year of Tianfu (940), the Great Buddha Hall was built. In the first year of Zhou Xiande (954), the "seven pagodas" outside the temple were built. In the first year of Jianlong (960), there were more than 100 halls in the temple. In 983, the temple was renamed Dayun temple. In 952, a stone censer was carved and placed in front of the Great Buddha Hall. In the fourth year of Qiande (966) of the Northern Song Dynasty, a stone Scripture building was built in the front yard. In the second year of Chengping (999) of the Northern Song Dynasty, a stone arhat was carved. In the fourth year of emperor Tianxi (1020) of the Northern Song Dynasty, the stone tablet of dayunyuan in Shuangfengshan was carved. In 1477, the temple of heavenly king was rebuilt. In October of the fourth year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty (1491), the three Buddha Hall was rebuilt, which was changed from three to five, and three Buddhas and two Bodhisattvas were added. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi, Daoguang and the Republic of China, monasteries were rebuilt. From 1961 to 1964, the Shanxi Provincial Committee of cultural relics allocated funds to repair the roof of the Great Buddha Hall, strengthen the internal beam and external eaves of the hall, rebuild 12 Eastern and Western Zen halls, and build 80 meters of eastern and Western walls.

Dayun courtyard block north to south, a total of two into the courtyard, covering an area of 4000 square meters. The existing Shanmen, Tianwang hall, Sanfo Hall (back hall) and the East and West Wing rooms in the front yard are all of the architectural styles of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Great Buddha Hall is a legacy of the Five Dynasties. There are 24 existing halls.

Tianwang Hall

The Tianwang hall has three rooms wide and three rooms deep. It has a suspended mountain roof with four rafters straight through the front and rear eaves. It has two columns, and the front and rear eaves have large square beams. The column head is used in Ming Dynasty, and the second is used in Ming Dynasty, and the second is used in the middle, and the fifth is used in the middle. Glass ridge beast, cloth tile decoration roof, with cathead dripping, heavy layer tile, ridge tube on both sides of the knead burning immortal, animal, rockery and other ridge decoration, unique shape.

Great Buddha Hall

The Great Buddha Hall is three rooms wide and three rooms deep, with four rafters and three columns on the back. The eaves are connected with three columns, and the single eaves rest on the top of the mountain. The Dou Gong with the head of the column and the Ming Ci Wen Bu room are made of five pavilions. The Dou Gong with the corner has a slanting arch. The column is square and the cornice is raised. The shape is simple and magnificent. There are 21 square meters of murals of the Five Dynasties in the hall, and the east wall is painted with the Buddhist story of "VIMA in disguise". The Red Chamber of purple Yin, surrounded by flowing clouds, is full of legend. Eight musicians, or accompaniment orchestras, or waist dance, showing a fairyland look. The front of the fan wall is painted with Avalokitesvara and dashizhi Bodhisattvas, flying in the sky by clouds, with elegant posture. There are 11 square meters of painted paintings of the Five Dynasties preserved on the arched eye wall and the elucidated forehead. There are stone censers of the Five Dynasties, stone Scripture buildings of the Song Dynasty and stone Arhats preserved in the hall.

Three Buddha Hall

The three Buddha Hall is five rooms wide and three rooms deep, with four rafters and two columns. The architectural style of the late Qing Dynasty is the same as that of the Dougong, the cloud shape of the Dougong and the hanging mountain style of the palace roof.

Seven pagodas

On the left side outside the temple, there is also a stone pagoda built in the late Zhou Dynasty of the Five Dynasties, commonly known as the "seven pagodas", carved with blue stone. It is about 6 meters high. It used to be seven stories, but now it has five stories. The first floor is decorated with lotus, lion, unicorn and Pegasus. The second layer of diaoji musicians is light in body, graceful in dancing and lifelike in accompaniment. At the corner of the third floor, the dragon column is carved and whirled. Under the eaves of the pagoda, feifeng, Feixian, gongmingwu and so on changed in many ways. Under the eaves, there were curtains hanging around. On the front side of the pagoda, there were dragons playing with pearls. On the side of the pagoda stood the two heavenly kings. On the back of the pagoda, the biqiu half covered the door. On the fourth floor, there are false doors in front and behind. The fifth layer is covered with a big round top. The tower is exquisitely designed and exquisitely carved. The pagoda is exquisitely designed, beautiful in shape and exquisite in carving, which is of great ornamental value. There are more than 20 caves on the cliff outside the temple. It is said that Ma Sanbao, the general of the Tang Dynasty, stationed troops.
