Development and utilization
Qingdao No.1 bathing beach, also known as Huiquan bathing beach, is located in Huiquan Bay of Qingdao City, which can accommodate tens of thousands of people to swim at the same time. In 1984, Qingdao municipal government carried out large-scale reconstruction of Huiquan bathing beach. After reconstruction, the building area will be expanded from 7000 square meters to 20000 square meters. More than 100 new dressing rooms with different shapes, novel and colorful have become the focus of the public and tourists. The beach area has been expanded from 1.18 hectares to 2.4 hectares.
Qingdao No.1 bathing beach was built in 1901. This is the essence of Qingdao seaside scenic spot. It is located in the Huiquan Bay of the eastern part of the city. It is half moon, with a wide surface and flat sand. It has no Hidden Reef concealed gully and whirlwind waves. The water area is 580 meters and 500 meters. At the beginning of its construction, the bathing place was exclusively for foreigners, and Chinese people were not allowed to enter. Only about 100 people took a bath every year. In 1914, baths were opened to Chinese people, and the number of bathers increased gradually. From the 1920s to the early 1930s, some facilities were added to the baths, including more than 10 wooden rooms (changing rooms) built by the government and the people, floating platforms, simple diving platforms, sampans and lifebuoys. When the bathing beach was open, the social security bureau sent doctors to rescue. There were cafes, shower rooms and temporary hotels on the North Bank of the bathing beach. After 1934, the scope of the bathhouse was expanded, with 30 men's and women's changing rooms. There were hotels, cold drink rooms and dance halls in the bathhouse. Donghai, Baima and Bailemen hotels were built nearby. Chinese and foreign bureaucrats and capitalists took a summer vacation here, and more than 1000 people took a bath every day, which made the bathhouse appear abnormal and prosperous. After Japan occupied Qingdao for the second time, yellow music was full of baths, and hooligans and ruffians were rampant in the baths. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the number of changing rooms increased to more than 300. The number of toiling public baths is less. After that, many private people set up dressing rooms and rented boats. In winter, dressing rooms became residents. The back dressing room was hit by a typhoon and was destroyed by the time of liberation. After the liberation of Qingdao, the people's government has rebuilt and expanded many times, and the baths have a new look. The number of bathers has increased year by year, becoming a paradise for the people. In 1953, two new diving platforms 20 meters away from the shore were built, the number of changing rooms increased to more than 500, shark prevention nets were set up, rescue teams, medical stations and safety observation platforms were built, and the Municipal Finance Bureau allocated 30000-40000 yuan for maintenance in the first year. In 1965, because the changing rooms were too old, the municipal government appropriated funds for partial reconstruction, adding three changing rooms (5 rooms in each building), two flushing places, and reconstructing the bathing beach office building, including medical room, police station, broadcasting room, conference room, lookout platform and other facilities. In 1983, the municipal government decided to remove 144 households from the bathing beach, demolish the changing rooms and rebuild the bathing beach. The transformation of the first bathing beach was listed as one of the 10 major events of urban construction in 1984, and the key project headquarters of the first bathing beach was established. From March 9, 1984 to June 26, 1984, it took only 108 days to build a beautiful and unique style bathing beach. The newly-built No.1 bathing beach has 63 single buildings of various shapes, with a total area of 19900 square meters. The original building area for maintenance is 400 square meters, with a total building area of 20300 square meters, more than double the original dressing room area. Among them, there are 13 public buildings, such as bathhouse office, watchtower, flushing place and toilet, with a construction area of more than 4100 square meters. The beach area has been expanded from 11800 square meters to 24000 square meters. History and development
A hundred years ago, it was the place where local fishermen moored their boats and dried their nets. After occupying Qingdao, Germany opened up a bathing beach, built dozens of wooden changing rooms, equipped with rescue boats and various game facilities, and built the "streland Hotel" (today's Huiquan Hotel) behind the bathing beach in 1904 to receive foreign tourists. The German authorities also advertised in Japan, Hong Kong and other places, making the first bathing beach a famous entertainment place in East Asia. In the midsummer, many foreign tourists came to Qingdao for summer vacation, with 16791 people in 1921 alone. Since then, hotels, dance halls, bars, cafes, music tables and other entertainment and rest places have been built one after another. Diving platforms, floating platforms and wharves have been built on the sea, and emergency and life-saving equipment have been improved. Some open spaces have been arranged as gardens and children's sports grounds. The complete facilities and superior environment not only rank the top of all baths in Qingdao, but also, as the famous writer Yu Dafu said, "I'm afraid it's in Qingdao In East Asia, no sea water is second to none in China's coastal bathing beaches. Just like the bathing beach can catch up with Qingdao ".
In the 1940s, due to the construction of fortifications by Japanese aggressors and the influence of typhoon in 1949, the first bathing beach was seriously damaged one after another, and was built many times after liberation. In order to meet the needs of the rapid development of tourism, in 1984, the Qingdao Municipal People's government carried out a large-scale repair and expansion of the bathing beach, which took only 102 days to make the first bathing beach take on a new look. The newly built bathing beach has a construction area of 20000 square meters, and the beach area has doubled. Along the outer side of the beach, there are many dressing rooms with novel shapes and various styles. They are tower shaped, round, square, polygonal and so on. Their colors are bright and bright, just like a fairy tale world. In summer, it can accommodate 200000 swimmers a day, which is an excellent place for summer.

For a time, the broad beach is full of people. People enjoy the selfless gifts of nature, such as sunshine, air, sand beach and sea breeze, and appreciate the endless charm of the seaside in summer. After the midsummer, tourists are getting rarer and rarer. However, even in winter, the first bathing beach is never lonely. The beach is still full of tourists, and winter swimmers can often be seen swimming in the sea in the face of the cold wind.
