detailed information
In the Qing Dynasty, the Wu family, known as "Jinshi aristocratic family" and "Shangshu family", has a good reputation of "seven ministers, eight governors, nine Guanglu, three Hanlin, five senior officials and ten imperial bans". Covering an area of 7000 square meters, the courtyard is full of ancient trees and elegant momentum. The former residence, Nanyuan, was built in the Zhengtong period of the Ming Dynasty. It was originally the younger brother of Wang you, the Minister of the Ministry of household in the Ming Dynasty. It was purchased by Wu Shaoshi, the Minister of the Ministry of official affairs of the 13th Wu family, and then rebuilt. Now the Ming Dynasty buildings still exist, with a history of 500 years. The main body of Nanyuan is "baoyantang", which is named after Wu's collection of Su Dongpo's "Xuetang baoyantang". "Shangshudi" in the north courtyard was built in 1664, the first year of Emperor Kangxi's reign. A horizontal plaque of "shangshudi" was hung on the lintel, and a gold plaque of "father and son Jinshi" was hung on the interior door. According to experts, this former residence is a typical representative of the official residence in Ming and Qing Dynasties, which has high archaeological value and artistic value.
