The origin of the name
Macao residents generally call the black sand beach black sand or black sand beach to distinguish the "black sand ring" in the northeast of Macao Peninsula. However, due to the impact of tourist maps and manuals, and the fact that most of the beaches in Hong Kong are named "XX bay", many tourists, especially Hong Kong tourists, refer to the black sand beach as "Black Sand Bay". As a result, they often have misunderstandings with local residents in communication. As a matter of fact, in the official map drawn by the Macao government and published by the cadastral Bureau, it has always been marked as "black sand beach" instead of "Black Sand Bay".
Features of scenic spots
Macau black sand beach (Praia de HAC s á) is located on the south side of Macau road circle island, China. It is named for its unique black sand. The length of Heisha beach is about 1350 meters, and the beach is smooth. It is also known as one of the eight scenic spots in Macao. It is the preferred hot spot for water activities or star watching. Heisha beach used to be the largest natural beach in Macao, but because of soil erosion, the surface area of Heisha beach is gradually reduced. In order to prevent the scenic spots from disappearing, the authorities replaced the lost Black Sea sand with new yellow sand. At present, the original black sea sand is covered on the bottom and the shore, which looks less than the new sand.
In ancient times, Heisha was called "Dahuan", which was half moon shaped, with gentle slope, broad beach surface and clear water quality. The source of Black Sea sand is said to be affected by the current before it is transported to the shore. According to the analysis, the Black Sea sand comes from a kind of secondary mineral glauconite, which has been washed by waves for many years and brought to the coast. There is also a small fishing village with a history of 100 years nearby, called Heisha village. There are also large areas of Casuarina Plantations on the shore, dense and green. The education and Youth Bureau of Macao has also set up a youth hostel at Heisha beach, so that local young tourists can stay and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the beach. The black sand park beside the beach and the Westin Resort in Macao are both good places for tourists to enjoy and rest. The most charming time on the beach is sunrise in the East.
Entertainment
A large area of Casuarina equisetifolia has been planted on the bank to become an evergreen forest belt. It is suitable for outing, rowing and swimming. Four thousand years ago pottery was excavated on the shore, which is evidence of the ancestors' life in Macao. In recent years, new tourism facilities such as five-star hotels and golf courses have been built on the Bank of Heisha, which makes "stepping on the waves in Heisha" the icing on the cake.
The nearby Heisha comprehensive activity center covers an area of 18500 square meters and has various recreational facilities, such as tennis court, volleyball court, small golf course, multi-purpose sports ground, children's swimming pool and Olympic standard swimming pool. In the evening, there is a barbecue venue in the activity center, which provides chicken legs, pork chops, steak and other meat, so that customers can enjoy the barbecue.
