Beijing Opera Museum
Beijing Opera Museum was officially completed and opened to the public on September 6, 1997. This is the 100th Museum in Beijing. Huguang guild hall was built in 1807, including a group of buildings, such as Daxi building, Xiangxian temple, Wenchang Pavilion, Baoshan hall, Chuwan hall, Fengyu Huairen Hall, etc. In those days, it was a place where students and businessmen from Hunan and Hubei provinces came to Beijing to live together. Development history
In 1912, the great revolutionary pioneer Dr. Sun Yat Sen visited Huguang guild hall five times to deliver political speeches, and presided over the founding meeting of the Kuomintang here on August 25. In order to give full play to the comprehensive function of the research and popularization of traditional Chinese opera, 1996 In the spring of, Huguang guild hall opened first, and every night famous artists from Beijing Peking Opera Theater performed wonderful operas. The basic exhibition of the Opera Museum is "a brief history of Beijing Opera". The guild hall is generally divided into three parts. The main body is the center. The north end of the central axis is the main hall, the middle is the living room, and the south end is the theater building. The theater floor is five rooms wide, and the careful room is the stage. The column width is 5.68 meters, and the depth is seven rooms. The East, West and north sides of the second floor are the buildings, and the south side is the stage. The backstage is five rooms, and the height is two floors. The theater building is a beam type wood structure with double roll eaves hanging on the top of the mountain and tile roof. Historical records
According to historical records, the former Huguang guild hall was built in the 12th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1807 A.D.), and a large stage was added during the reign of Daoguang. The guild hall is west to East, and the general hall is open
Covering an area of more than 43000 square meters, the door is inlaid with exquisite brick carvings. In the front hall there is a theater, in the middle there are Wenchang Pavilion, Xiangxian temple, ziwujing, etc. in the back hall there are Baoshan hall, Chuwan hall, fengfenghuairen hall and a small garden. The theater building is located in the front of the guild hall. There are two upper and lower floors on the north, East and west sides, which can accommodate thousands of people. There is a couplet: "Wei Kai's reign is magnificent, just like a dream in Dongting; Kangqu's dance, together with the palace and merchants, is still white and sunny.". Huguang guild hall was later established as Beijing Opera Museum, which undertakes the task of popularizing opera knowledge and displaying excellent opera works. The grand theater building of Huguang guild hall has restored its former style. The sky screen of the stage is a colorful pattern of dragon and Phoenix, peony, bat and Ruyi auspicious embroidered with yellow gold silk. After the Republic of China, Tan Xinpei, Yu Shuyan, Mei Lanfang and other masters of Peking Opera performed here, which made it a famous place for opera performance at that time.
There is a couplet, about 3.6 meters long, hanging from the holding column in front of the theater. The couplet says: the Wei que Dynasty is full of splendor, just like a cloud dream in Dongting, and the Kang Qu dance palace is still in the white. On the top of the stage is the flat forehead of "singing together in neon clothes", and the black ground is full of golden characters. On the second floor, there are 12 boxes in the box style. The viewing pool and the box are equipped with antique hardwood furniture to enjoy tea and opera.

During this period, the leaders and staff of the guild hall are making continuous efforts to build the guild hall into a first-class one in line with international standards. Huguang guild hall is a cultural front for external publicity. In order to facilitate domestic and foreign audiences to better appreciate the infinite charm of Chinese opera, the gongs and drums at the opening of Beijing opera will be heard in the Grand Theater at 7:30 every night, because a large number of foreign guests from all over the world come to the guild hall to watch Beijing opera. Following the Chinese and English subtitles, the theater has also launched simultaneous translation services in English and Japanese, which has been highly praised by international friends.
