Wooden Pagoda Temple, formerly known as Wanshou temple, is located in the South Street of Zhangye County, Gansu Province. It is the only remaining Pagoda in Zhangye.
The wooden tower is one of the five element towers in Zhangye City. The tower is 32.8 meters high and has nine levels on eight sides. Each level has a carved dragon head with a pearl in its mouth and a wind chime under it. The main body of the tower is a wooden structure, and the outer eaves are built in a pavilion style. The inner wall of the tower is made of hollow bricks, and each floor has doors and windows, floors, corridors and the tower core. The windows are decorated with flowers and the lintels are decorated with brick banners. The whole tower is not riveted by one nail, but connected by the bucket arch and the main beam column, crisscross and pull each other. Climbing the tower, you can overlook the city of Zhangye. When the weather is fine, you can also see the beautiful sunset of the city. Every evening, there are countless swallows around the tower, very spectacular. In addition, the square is also a place for leisure and entertainment, where people can fully feel the city culture and life of Zhangye.
