The Tongxiang museum was founded in 1976, where the original site was 1 in the Tong Tong Street, Wutong street. It was relocated to No. 8 Qingfeng South Road in 1993. In December 2013, the new museum was opened in 399 yuan Garden Road, North botanical garden.

The new Tongxiang Museum covers an area of 9518 square meters, with public service hall, lecture hall, exhibition area, storage area and office area.
