Mui Wo ferry terminal is a ferry terminal in Silver Mine Bay, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. At present, new world first ferry and Ping Chau Street ferry Co., Ltd. provide services to four places.
Mui Wo pier used to be an important transportation hub on Lantau Island. At that time, people would take ferries from central and Tsim Sha Tsui (only for holidays) to get to the places where they had to go to all parts of Lantau Island, including the temple of heaven, Buddha, Tai O and other places, and then take buses to get there. Therefore, there are a lot of tourists at the pier (especially on holidays). Until 1997, when the Lantau link was opened and the Tung Chung Line of the MTR was opened, people could take buses or transfer buses from the MTR to Tung Chung to all parts of Lantau (including Mui Wo) and no longer have to take ferries to central. As a result, the usage of the terminal has dropped sharply and has lost its original courage.
