Yici temple is located at No. 220 along the West River of Qianmen, Xuanwu District, Beijing. It is adjacent to Tiananmen Square in the East, Liulichang Culture Street in the South and Peking duck restaurant in Hepingmen in the north. It is an ancient theater building with a history of more than 300 years.

It is said that it is an ancient temple in Ming Dynasty. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, it was rebuilt as a theater.

According to the Encyclopedia of China, Yici theater building is a complete theater building. Its architecture dates back to many famous Western opera houses, such as the French comedy house in Paris, France, and the Calvin Park opera house in England. It is the only pure wooden theater in Beijing that has been basically intact.

It is a milestone in the history of the development of Chinese theater. It is praised by scholars as "a living fossil in the cultural history of Chinese Theater". It has a high value of visiting and historical and cultural research.

Yici theater building covers an area of about 1000 square meters. All the buildings are of wood structure, facing north and south. The stage is open on three sides. There are two open boxes on both sides of the stage. There is a 100 square meter viewing pool in front of the stage, which can hold 200 people to watch the opera and enjoy tea.

In addition to the Changyin Pavilion in the Forbidden City and the opera house in Prince Gong's mansion, the ancient opera house in Yici temple is one of the best in Beijing. Historical evolution

Yici opera house is located in Xiheyan street, Xuanwu District, Beijing, south of Hepingmen. It is one of the most famous opera houses in Beijing. It is also the oldest well preserved pure wood theater building in China.

The theater was built on the site of the Buddhist temple. The theater has a long history. Mei Lanfang, the master of Peking Opera, once performed here.

Zhengyi temple, located outside Heping gate in Beijing, was an ancient temple in Ming Dynasty.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Zhengyi temple was transformed into a guest house of Beijing Municipal Bureau of education. After the reform and opening up, it was once rented to young entrepreneur Wang Yuming. Wang Yuming funded the restoration of Zhengyi temple.

It was completed and opened on October 9, 1995. At the opening ceremony, Mei Baojiu, Mei Baowang Yue, Wang Shufang and other famous artists from Mei Opera Company performed the traditional drama "Da Deng Dian", which was very popular.

Celebrities from all walks of life, such as Zhu Jiajin, Lu Yan, etc., gave congratulations. From then on, Peking Opera, Ping opera, bang opera, Qu opera and Yue opera were staged one after another.
