Lingyin Temple

When you travel to Hangzhou, you can see the West Lake and Lingyin. Lingyin Temple was founded in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, also known as Yunlin temple. It is the earliest ancient temple in Hangzhou. It is also the place where Ji Gong became a monk. Huili, an Indian monk, saw the wonderful scenery here and thought that it was "hidden by immortals" and built a temple here.

The stone pagoda in front of daxiongbao hall and the stone Scripture building in front of Tianwang hall are relics of Wu and Yue dynasties. The Buddhist relics collected in Lingyin Temple include ancient Beiye scriptures, gold-plated Buddha statues of the Eastern Wei Dynasty, Jingang scriptures written by Dong Qichang of the Ming Dynasty, and wooden Dragon carving collections of Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty.

Huili, a western Indian, came to Wulin (now Hangzhou) in the third year of Weihe (328 AD) of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. When he saw Feilai peak, he sighed and said, "this is the small ridge of Tianzhu lingjiu peak. I don't know how to replace Feilai.". Li Gong said: "there are two apes in this peak, black and white, practicing in the cave. They will follow each other here.". At the mouth of the cave, Duke Li called out two apes. Because of this, Lingyin Temple was built in front of Feilai peak. And also built Lingyin, Lingshan, Lingfeng and other temples. After the rest of the temple word or more or scrap, only Lingyin Temple enduring. It is also called Yan Jiyan. Its tower is in the east of Huilong bridge.

Zen master of Zhongxing Yanshou

He was born in Yuhang. At the age of seven, he recited the Dharma Sutra in all five aspects. At the age of 28, he was a general of Huating town. He often released himself with official money and suffered huge losses. He was sentenced to death. He looked happy and fearless at the execution. King Qian wenmu pardoned him and listened to him become a monk. When he first lived in Tiantai, the wise man Yan Xiding saw Guanyin pouring nectar into his mouth in Zen Buddhism, so he was able to distinguish. Later, when he heard that he had lost his salary, he realized it. In the first year of Jianlong (960 A.D.), King Qian Zhongyi asked for a heavy blow to Lingyin Temple, which led to the rise of Lingyin Temple. Later, he was called the abbot of Lingyin Temple. Lingyin people thought it was the first generation. Following the Yongming Daochang (i.e. Jingci Temple), he wrote zongjinglu, zhizilu and other books based on heart and understanding. One hundred and eight good deeds are performed every day. There are more than 2000 disciples. The name of the person is the next generation of the CI family. In December of the eighth year of Kaibao (975 A.D.), incense was burned to tell the public to sit down and melt. Numerous relics were obtained and the pagoda was erected on the right side of Jingci temple. Given the title of Zen master Zhijue, he experienced 72 years of life and was a monk of 42 years.

Reviving a virtuous monk

Youde, also known as Hongli, is the son of the Zhang family in Kuaiji. As a child, his father and brother lived in Hangzhou and engaged in business. He did not like writing and writing, but preferred to travel with Taoist Huang Guan. After realizing his faults, he became a monk in Mount Putuo. It took a long time to listen to Sanfeng patriarchal Zen master's saying that he went to JinSu temple and followed others to Sanfeng to ask for help. He is the descendant of Zen master Sanfeng fazang and the grandson of Zen master Tiantong Miyun. In terms of Linji orthodox inheritance, monk Ju is the 32nd generation ancestor of Linji. In the sixth year of Shunzhi (1649 A.D.), the 24 rooms of Lingyin urged the abbot to come to the mountain. The master said with emotion: "the so-called Taoist priest of my husband is to revere the elephant and the three treasures, so that people can look forward to them; he uses the key to hammer the son and pass on the wisdom of the Buddha. It is necessary for the monks to live in the squatters. That is to say, we should lead the public to stick to it personally, cut off thorns and soil, and do everything in advance. It was built in 1650 A.D. with aggregates, the main hall, Fatang, fangzhangliao, Hakka house, bell and Drum Tower, etc. It can be said that "not a monk can build a tripod". After the monk revived Lingyin, he used his own unique Zen method to attract scholars, Taoism and customs. When people praise: after CI Ming, Yang Qi, Jie Yan, Miao Xi, only one person. Qing Kangxi six years (AD 1667) on October 19 Shi Ji, 68. There are more than 30 volumes of Shihui quotations handed down to the world.
