Tiangong Buddha
The Tiangong Giant Buddha in Keyan scenic spot, Keqiao District, Zhejiang Province was excavated in the Sui Dynasty and completed in the early Tang Dynasty. After three generations of stonework, it is 20.8 meters high and has two ears that can connect people. It is one of the four major stone Buddhas in Zhejiang Province.
Appearance of Buddha
The statue of Buddha, with wide forehead, sincere and kind Dharma, plump and mellow face and gentle and dignified manner, is a treasure of ancient stone carving art in the south of the Yangtze River. Different from many semi-circular and relief stone Buddhas in China, this Buddha is a round carving Buddha, whose back is not connected with the niche, so it has outstanding cultural value.
Figure of Buddha
The platform is 23 meters long, 21 meters wide and 1.2 meters high. It is engraved with Buddhist characters and "six characters to speak frankly". There are 48 Buddha statues carved outside the stone railings. The pool around the stone Buddha is a waste rock left by ancient quarrying. It has been buried for hundreds of years. The excavation of the pool in the summer of 1995 made this unique stone landscape reappear in the world.
