Shenyang Science Palace

Shenyang Science Palace is one of the landmark buildings in Shenyang, with nearly 300 popular science exhibits, including basic science, digital world, robotics, aerospace and other popular science exhibition areas. You can experience different scientific and technological fun in different exhibition areas, such as observing stars in aerospace exhibition area, riding on glider simulator, playing chess with robots and watching robot performances in robot exhibition area. It is suitable to bring children here for science popularization education and experience the magic of science and technology.

Shenyang Science Palace

Shenyang Science Center is located in Wulihe Central Business District, Shenhe District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. It is a large-scale modern popular science education base in Shenyang. It was built in June 2000.

Shenyang Science Palace, covering an area of 36000 square meters and a building area of 40000 square meters, integrates science popularization exhibition, exchange and training, conference and exhibition, and high-tech entertainment.

The science palace includes more than 240 popular science exhibits.

Construction process

On September 17, 1998, Shenyang Science Palace started construction.

On June 18, 2000, Shenyang Science Palace was built and put into use.

In November 2003, IBM donated information exhibits to the information exhibition hall of Shenyang Science Palace.

In April 2005, the mathematics exhibition hall of Shenyang Science Palace was completed.

On May 20, 2005, science palace built Shenyang children's science wall.

On June 24, 2005, the science museum's science popularization exhibits are high in science and technology, and the linear track was built in the exhibition of the longest manned maglev vehicle in the domestic science and Technology Museum.

In 2006, Shenyang Science Palace was rated as China's national 4A scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration.

On February 8, 2006, Shenyang Science Palace was named as "National Youth extracurricular activities demonstration base" and "ten facts of Shenyang's spiritual civilization construction in 2005".

In May 2006, Shenyang Science Palace established a popular science travel agency with the theme of popular science tourism.

In September 2006, the science and Technology Department of Liaoning Province and Shenyang Science and Technology Bureau decided to build the "Youth Science and technology innovation activity base of Liaoning Province" in Shenyang Science Palace. The first phase of the project has been completed and put into use.

In August 2008, the "digital world" exhibition hall on the second floor of Science Museum of science palace was completed and opened.

In 2009, the academician style gallery of science palace was built and opened after careful preparation.

In November 2009, the first new energy science popularization theme exhibition hall in Liaoning Province was completed in the science palace.

On January 12, 2012, the renovation of the first floor of Science Museum was completed.

In March 2012, it was named as "the first batch of practice base for ideological and moral construction of minors in Shenyang" by Shenyang spiritual civilization construction Steering Committee.

On January 25, 2013, the Astronomical Museum of science palace officially opened.

On February 22, 2013, the transformation of robot exhibition hall and digital world exhibition hall on the second floor of science popularization exhibition hall of Shenyang Science Palace was completed.

Shenyang Science Palace science palace has a series of popular science exhibition halls, including basic science exhibition hall, robot exhibition hall, digital world exhibition hall, aerospace exhibition hall, mathematics exhibition hall, new energy exhibition hall, new energy exhibition hall, etc. it also has entertainment projects such as ball screen cinema and 4D film. The screen diameter of ball screen cinema is 23 meters, the whole screen area is nearly 1000 square meters, and the film screen is more than 800 square meters, It can hold 260 people.

The science palace also set up a science and technology innovation base to develop young people's innovative thinking ability through hands-on experience.

Exhibition Profile

Exhibition hall of basic science

Department of basic science involves mechanics, optics, electromagnetics, machinery and other disciplines. Through the wonderful phenomena of sound, light, magnetism and electricity, it vividly shows the general laws of basic science to the audience and interprets the scientific principles. In January 2012, the transformation of the basic science department of Shenyang Science Palace was completed and reopened. After the transformation, the basic science hall is divided into four exhibition areas: mechanical transmission, electromagnetic mystery, mechanical wonders, vision and illusion, showing the audience more wonderful scientific wonders.

Digital world, robot exhibition area

The digital world and robot exhibition area show the audience fingerprint recognition system using human biological characteristics, voice recognition system using sound to operate computer, sound control tree using sound and light and stringless piano.

Robot hall is an exhibition hall with Shenyang local characteristics. The industrial application robots, humanoid robots and cartoon robots displayed in the exhibition hall reflect Shenyang's advantages in robot manufacturing and its technology.

Aerospace and mathematics exhibition area

The aviation exhibition area of science palace is a window to introduce aviation knowledge to the audience. The exhibition area displays the first powered, controllable and continuous flight aircraft model invented and manufactured by the Wright brothers in the United States. The space exhibition area of science palace mainly displays the development process and brilliant achievements of China's space industry through a large number of model demonstrations.

The mathematics exhibition hall is another theme exhibition area of the science palace. Covering an area of more than 400 square meters, it has nearly 30 exhibits. Mathematics exhibits use modern technology means of expression, participatory and interesting way of display to qualitatively show mathematical phenomena, interpret mathematical knowledge and reveal mathematical mysteries. The exhibits cover elementary mathematics, advanced mathematics, engineering mathematics, mechanical, descriptive geometry, electromagnetics and other fields related to mathematics, as well as classical mathematical problems.

Science Museum of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction

The Science Museum of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction of Shenyang Science Palace is the first theme exhibition area of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction set up in the science and Technology Museum in Northeast China, with an area of nearly 1000 square meters and a total of 22 exhibits. There are four theme exhibition areas, respectively showing the earth's structure and the cause of earthquakes, the exploration of seismic activity observation and prediction, earthquake disasters and prevention, earthquake rescue and escape.

The exhibits of the Science Museum of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction of Shenyang Science Palace introduce the scientific content of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction from the perspective of science popularization in a lively way, so as to strengthen the awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction and improve the ability of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction.

Science and technology innovation base

The total construction area of the base is 2500 square meters, which is divided into three phases. The first phase project of the base carries out the overall design around the two fields of radio and aircraft model, including five studios: Radio, electronic production studio, aircraft model and ship model production studio. The construction area is 1000 square meters. (completed in October 2006). The second phase of the base is mainly divided into robot studio, car model studio and woodworking machine studio. The activity mode mainly focuses on Teenagers' hands-on, supplemented by expert lectures, aims to cultivate teenagers' innovative consciousness, develop teenagers' innovative thinking, comprehensively promote quality education, and cultivate high-quality innovative talents and small inventors. Specifically including five studios: Radio, electronic production studio, aircraft model, ship model production studio. It is mainly divided into robot studio, car model studio and woodworking machine studio. Through the guidance of professional teachers, we can do robot programming, car model assembly, and make some cute cartoon models with woodworking machine tools, so as to develop teenagers' innovative thinking ability.

Important events

The science and technology week opened on May 15, 2004. At the opening ceremony, the science popularization tourism special line was launched, the science popularization caravan roving science popularization exhibition was launched, and the first exhibition was held in Xinmin senior high school.

From May 1 to August 20, 2006, the exhibition of Chinese Dinosaurs and ancient animals was jointly held with the World Expo.

On June 26, 2006, Shenyang Science Palace hosted the "2006 annual meeting of national science and Technology Museum" for the first time.

On April 20, 2009, the launching ceremony of 2009 Shenyang intellectual property publicity week was held in the science palace.

On May 15, 2010, the third Shenyang youth robot competition was held in the science palace.

On July 11, 2010, the 7th youth intelligence Tangram competition of Liaoning Province and Shenyang City was held in Longzhong, science palace.

On May 16, 2011, the opening ceremony of Shenyang Science Museum of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction was held in Shenyang Science Palace.

On June 8, 2011, Shenyang anti-corruption cultural works exhibition commemorating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the CPC was opened in Shenyang Science Palace.

From June 14 to 17, 2011, the calligraphy, fine arts and photography exhibition of municipal organs celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China was held in the science palace.

On July 5, 2011, the science palace held the opening ceremony of "World Classic Art Interactive Exhibition".

On October 10, 2011, the Shenyang station activity of "first aid platinum 10 minutes - national self and mutual rescue activity day" was held in the square of science palace.

On October 26, 2012, the science palace Science Museum of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction was awarded the title of "national science education base of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction" by the State Seismological Bureau, and a listing ceremony was held.
