Linhe ancient city is located in Hejie Town, Hezhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It was built in 111 BC in the sixth year of Yuanding in the Western Han Dynasty. The old city includes four city sites, including jiuxiandu city site, Zhouwei city site, Hexi ancient city and Hedong ancient city site, six ancient Twilight groups, two temples and one Yingpan in Song Dynasty. There are a large number of ancient buildings with local characteristics, including temples, ancestral halls, arrest halls, yamen, Yicang, Guildhall, Wenmiao, Shiban street, ancient wells, dwellings, docks and shuimen. With clear historical context, long duration and rich cultural connotation, the ancient city is the only well preserved historical city among the four major cities of Western Han Dynasty in Guangxi. On June 25, 2001, Linhe ancient city, as an ancient building from Han Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, was approved by the State Council to be listed in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

The origin of history
Linhe ancient city, including four sites. Dayacun city site was built in the early Western Han Dynasty. It is rectangular, with an earthen wall. There is a gap in the middle of the south wall for the city gate. Outside the East and west walls, there are moats 10 meters wide and 2 meters deep. Zhouweipo site is a new site of xianpo in the late Western Han Dynasty. Now there are remains of earthen city walls, about 1000 meters in length and width.
Hexi city site is a new County site moved here from Zhouwei in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It is slightly rectangular. It is built with rammed wall, with a residual height of 3-6 meters and a width of 23-25 meters. The East, South and west walls are 840, 879 and 569 meters long respectively. The west section of the north wall has been destroyed, while the east section is 280 meters long. There is a moat outside the city of the Eastern Han Dynasty. In the Five Dynasties, the West and North walls were shrunk by more than 90 meters, and the earth walls were rebuilt by ramming 630 meters. In the Southern Song Dynasty, the wall was built green.
Layout structure
In the Song Dynasty, Linhe City, also known as the main city, used the walls of the Eastern Han Dynasty and the Five Dynasties, and was built with green bricks. On the city, city stacks were built, gates were opened on all sides, and enemy towers were built. A moat was opened around it. Linhe City of the Song Dynasty was used in yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was repaired during the reign of Tongzhi and Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1862-1908 A.D.) and at the beginning of the Republic of China.
After the middle of Qing Dynasty, the old city of Hedong was formed. There are stone streets, residential streets, eastern Guangdong guild hall, Confucian temple, Kuixing building, eight saints temple, Guanyin building and so on. The historical context of the city site is clear, the cultural relics are rich, and the city wall is well preserved, which has high historical and scientific value.
Cultural relics protection
On June 25, 2001, Linhe ancient city, as an ancient building from Han Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, was approved by the State Council to be listed in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
