Inner Mongolia Horqin Museum, formerly known as Zhemeng Museum, was founded in 1975. It is the earliest regional comprehensive museum in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The Museum covers an area of more than 20000 square meters, with a building area of 5600 square meters. The main exhibition hall is an antique building with red pillars and yellow tiles. In 1986, Mr. Zhao Puchu, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Buddhist Association, visited the museum. After watching the exhibition of "a brief history of ancient Zhemeng", he enthusiastically inscribed a plaque with five regular script characters for the main hall of the exhibition hall. In October 2003, he moved to the new site and changed his name to Horqin Museum. The museum is one of the top ten key projects of Tongliao City in 2001. It faces south and faces north. It is 120 meters long from east to west and 42 meters wide from north to south. It has one underground floor and four floors on the ground. The local height is 31 meters and the total construction area is 20000 square meters. The overall design reflects the traditional Chinese concept of Tianyuan. The top of the facade is a curved bow, symbolizing the appellation of Horqin Mongols. The exterior wall is decorated with natural sesame white granite and dark gray glass curtain, which is full of national characteristics and modern flavor.
The first floor underground of the new museum is divided into three independent areas: the middle basement is a civil air defense project, covering an area of 1600 square meters, which is developed and utilized as a cultural relics warehouse; the basement on both sides of the East and West are 1600 square meters, which can be developed and utilized as supermarkets or book wholesale markets, cultural relics and handicrafts trading markets, etc.; the exhibition center hall with 3000 square meters on the ground floor and 10 urban halls with 120 square meters each can be held All kinds of large-scale exhibitions and trade fairs are received; six cultural relics exhibition halls are designed on the second and third floors, with a total area of 4800 square meters. According to the characteristics of Horqin's Mongolian population of 1.47 million, accounting for one third of the Mongolian population in the autonomous region, and the advantages of more than 10000 cultural relics in the collection, we have planned basic exhibitions, such as "Horqin's historical treasures", "Horqin's long history", "Mongolian cultural relics", "Liao Chen Princess and his son-in-law tomb cultural relics exhibition", "Guanbu Art Museum", "Liu Baoping Art Museum" Look at.. In June 2005, Horqin museum was rated as Tongliao patriotism education base and Tongliao red tourist attraction. Now it has applied for the second batch of patriotism education base in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The fourth floor is a multi-functional conference hall with an area of 1400 square meters, which can accommodate 800 people. It can hold various types of large-scale conferences, academic conferences and evening parties. At present, the Convention and Exhibition Center has been put into use. Over the past 20 years, Keerqin Museum has successively excavated some influential Liao tombs in China, such as Kulun no.1-7 tomb, Huolinhe jinjiehaobianbao tomb, Liao Chen Princess tomb and turji mountain Liao tomb. Among them, Liao Chen Princess tomb was rated as one of the top ten archaeological discoveries in 1986, and turji mountain Liao tomb was rated as one of the top ten archaeological discoveries in 2003. Through the two general surveys of cultural relics and historic sites in Tongliao City, more than 1200 ancient cultural sites, ancient tombs and ancient city sites have been identified. Through the collection during the general survey and the rescue excavation at ordinary times, 5740 cultural relics (groups) have been collected by the embassy, including more than 82 national first-class cultural relics, more than 199 second-class cultural relics and 338 third-class cultural relics. According to the age and collection property, there are 4747 ancient cultural relics, 287 modern cultural relics and 28 natural specimens.
