Taipei No.1 women's senior high school is a senior high school located in Taipei's Zhongzheng district. It is a star high school in Taipei. It is also known as the best high school in Taiwan as well as Jianguo High School.

Taipei First Girls' high school (abbreviated as Beiyi girls' high school, Beiyi girls' middle school, Beiyi girls' high school, or Beiyi girls' middle school) is a high school located in Taipei's Zhongzheng district. It is a star high school in Taipei. Together with Jianguo High School, it is also known as the best high school in Taiwan. Beiyi women's middle school is well-known in Taiwan and even overseas Chinese Society for its important role in cultivating female elites in various fields. The average quality of the students is 1% (PR = 99) of the excellent junior high school graduates before the junior high school basic ability test.
School history
The period of Japanese occupation
In 1904 (the 34th year of Meiji), the Japanese set up "the Third Affiliated higher girls' College of Taiwan Governor's office Mandarin School", which is the predecessor of "the first women's College of Taipei state" (now Beiyi girls).
In 1907, it was renamed "Taiwan Governor's high school attached to women's College".
In September 1909, it was renamed "Taiwan Governor's College for women". In September of the same year, it was renamed "Taiwan Governor's Office Taipei women's College". The first principal, Mr. Yoshida, was appointed and founded the foundation of the school. The next three principals, akiyoshiji, Shimizu, and Fujita Chenping, enriched the school's hardware and equipment, and established the school spirit of women's colleges and universities.
In 1919, the Japanese cabinet issued the "Taiwan education order", which was renamed "public Taipei women's College".
In 1921, it was renamed "the first women's College of Taipei state".
In 1922, the second revision of "education in Taiwan area" was promulgated. The first senior high school girl began to recruit Taiwanese girls (Japanese: Taiwanese, about 47:3). Students must be excellent, have a prominent family background, and pass the competitive examination.
In 1923, a female high school took the lead in setting up "women's swimming team", and began to hold coastal teaching in the following year.
In 1924, President Yiliu Qingshui led his students to climb the top of "new mountain" (Yushan), the highest mountain in Taiwan, with an altitude of 3952 meters. The first female student from Beiyi became the first female student in Taiwan to climb Yushan. At that time, a documentary film of students' mountain climbing was shown in Taipei's new park. According to the newspaper, 30000 people went to watch it, which caused a sensation at that time and started the trend of women's mountain climbing activities in Taiwan.
In 1937, the Second World War broke out, and the imperial movement began. The whole school was shrouded in the shadow of the war. Students often have to take part in labor service and give them military training.
In 1945, the school was bombed and the whole school was devastated. President ITO Xianzang died while inspecting school affairs. In December of the same year, the government sent Ms. Hu Wanru to take over the school and appointed her as the first principal after the restoration. After that, the successors were Wang Chaoyun and Ms. Chen Shihua. Changjiang Xuezhu, the 11th president of the school, laid a solid foundation for Bei Yi Nu, who has been the president of Bei Yi Nu for 22 years. Beiyi's famous "green uniform" was made by her.
postwar period
In 1945, after repatriating the Japanese in the end of the war, the first senior female in Taipei with more than 150 students remaining, the second senior female with 10 students remaining and the fourth senior female with more than 10 students remaining were merged into "Taiwan Taipei first women's middle school", which has high school and junior high school departments. On December 12, the national government sent Ms. Hu Wanru to take over the school and appointed her as the first president after the war. Set this day as the school day.
In 1948, Zhu Jiahua, Minister of education, led a delegation to visit Taiwan, and named Beiyi girl as one of the 39 excellent model middle schools in China. (two schools in Taiwan have been selected, and the other is Taichung No.1 middle school.)
In 1949, the night department was set up and ended in 1953.
In the 1950s and 1960s, she received the last female students from Jianguo middle school, high school attached to Normal University (before the recruitment of female students in 1983) and Municipal Women's high school (now Jinhua middle school in Taipei).
In 1952, the uniform was changed from white dress and black skirt to green dress and black skirt.
In 1954, a junior high school was set up at night.
In 1955, the nighttime high school and Xindian branch (high school and junior high school) were added. A small number of male alumni of Beiyi female are in the junior high school of Xindian branch. Their uniforms are green coats and khaki pants.
In 1961, in line with the policy of "provincial high schools and Municipal Junior High Schools" issued by the education authorities in Taiwan, the junior high school department was suspended. (there are still supplementary junior high schools)
In 1964, Xindian branch school changed its name to Taipei County Wufeng junior high school (now Xinbei City Wufeng junior high school).
In 1967, Taipei was transformed into a municipality directly under the central government. In July of the same year, it was renamed "Taipei No.1 women's high school".
In 1968, the recruitment of secondary schools was stopped.
In 1971, air supplementary school was added, and in 1973, the recruitment was stopped.
In 1980, the Ministry of education stopped recruiting students at night.
In 1983, the mathematics and physics gifted class was set up, which is one of the earliest high school gifted classes in Taiwan.
In 1999, the cram school was renamed as a continuing education school, and the enrollment was suspended every other year.
In 2004, the humanistic and social gifted class was set up, which is one of the earliest humanistic and social gifted classes in China.

In the past International Science Olympiad, Asia Pacific Olympiad and various international science exhibitions in the fields of mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics and Geosciences, the most award-winning female students in Taiwan are students of this university. More than 40% of the graduates of the first year of the northern Taiwan women's college are enrolled in Taiwan's most famous National Taiwan University.
