Gaomei wetland
Gaomei wetland is located in the west of Qingshui Town, Taichung County. The reason for its formation is the gradual accumulation of silt due to the establishment of gaomei seawall. Gaomei wetland has a small area, but because it has both muddy and sandy beaches, and the estuarine swamps meet together, it breeds a rich and complex wetland ecology, including tidal stream, swamp, beach, mud and other ecological habitats, and is adjacent to Yunlin guancao area, the largest ethnic group in Taiwan Province, thus forming a complex terrain with dry and wet and plant growth. The diversity of topography means that the diversity of biological species is very high, so gaomei wetland has become the best habitat for all kinds of benthos, fish and shellfish, birds and waterfowl.
