Qingdao Botanical Garden

Qingdao botanical garden is located at the southern foot of Taiping mountain in Qingdao city. It is adjacent to Zhongshan Park and zoo in the west, Zelin Park in the north, revolutionary martyrs memorial hall and Zhanshan temple in the East, and Badaguan in the south.

In the garden, the vegetation is rich and luxuriant, and every May, there are all kinds of roses in full bloom. There are lots of lawns inside for picnics.

Qingdao botanical garden was founded in 1976, covering an area of 1500 mu. In June 1994, Qingdao botanical garden was officially opened to the outside world. It is a comprehensive tourism landscape mainly composed of ornamental plants such as trees and flowers, integrating scientific research and popular science, flower and tree cultivation and sightseeing.

Qingdao botanical garden is a national AA tourist attraction. In May 2001, it was approved as a designated tourism unit by the Municipal Tourism Bureau. In 2002, it was named "Qingdao popular science education base" by Qingdao Association for science and technology.

Background of preparation

Qingdao botanical garden was founded in 1976, covering an area of 1500 mu. It is located in the southern foot of Taiping mountain scenic area. There are Forest Park, botanical garden, Sino Japanese Friendship Garden, French building, Tingtao Pavilion, waterside pavilion and other scenic spots in the park. For a long time, the botanical garden is based on the protection of plant resources, the introduction and domestication of fine varieties and the popularization of plant science. It is a comprehensive tourism landscape mainly composed of ornamental plants such as trees and flowers, which integrates scientific research and popular science, flower cultivation and sightseeing. There are more than 400 kinds of flowers and trees with high appreciation value at home and abroad, including nearly 80 rare and endangered plants. The forest park, which was built and opened in October 1997, is a comprehensive park integrating fitness and leisure. In 2002, the botanical garden was built according to the nature and function of the botanical garden. In 2004, the road of the forest park was comprehensively renovated to improve the environmental level. In August 2001, our park was rated as a national "AA" tourist attraction. In early 2002, it was named as "city popular science education base" by the City Association for science and technology. In March 2004, it passed the review of the national "AA" tourist attraction (District). Taking this opportunity, the botanical garden strives to build Qingdao botanical garden into a modern botanical garden with the spirit of continuous development and enterprising. Since April 12, 2008, the botanical garden has been open to the public free of charge, which is one of the ten practical things in 2008.

In 2013, as a branch venue of the world horticultural exposition, a large-scale renovation was carried out, and the third phase renovation project of Taipingshan was completed. In 2014, it was reopened simultaneously with the world horticultural exposition.

Qingdao botanical garden is located at the southern foot of Taiping mountain in Qingdao City, 36.05 ° N and 120.08 ° e, with an altitude of 30-148.5 meters. It is adjacent to Zhongshan Park and zoo in the west, Zelin Park in the north, revolutionary martyrs memorial hall and Zhanshan temple in the East, and Badaguan sanatorium in the south.

There are high and dry mountains and low-lying Ze Kuang in the park. The topography is undulating, the landform is complex, close to the mountain and the sea, and the scenery is beautiful. The soil is sandy, barren and slightly acidic with pH value of 6-7. Most areas are well drained.

The annual average temperature is 12.1 ℃, the extreme maximum temperature is 36.2 ℃, and the extreme minimum temperature is - 16.4 ℃. The annual average precipitation is 693.3 mm. The natural vegetation is deciduous broad-leaved forest mixed with evergreen conifers. The whole mountain top secondary Robinia pseudoacacia forest is dominant, and there are small forests of Pinus thunbergii, Quercus acutissima and celadon, which grow well. The ground cover under the forest is rich and luxuriant. The botanical garden is located in a diverse environment with undulating terrain and complex landform, which meets the requirements of plant ecology. In the garden, there are small forests with good natural growth, and the mountain scenery, sea view and temple buildings outside the garden can be borrowed. The climate is warm in winter and cool in summer, and the acid soil is suitable for some subtropical plants and alpine plants.

There are more than 1000 kinds of flowers and trees with high ornamental value, including more than 400 kinds of herbs and more than 600 kinds of woody plants. It is an important base for the protection, cultivation and promotion of excellent plant varieties in China.

The main varieties are Phoebe bournei, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, cherry blossom, Rhododendron Shiyan and Naidong. It is also the largest winter resistant planting and protection base in the urban area.

Main attractions

In the botanical garden, there are forest paradise, botanical garden, Sino Japanese Friendship Garden, Tingtao Pavilion and other scenic spots. From the garden, you can have a panoramic view of Qingdao mountain, Huiquan square, bathing beach and Badaguan.

tea garden

In 1958, tea seedlings were introduced from Anhui Province. The experimental cultivation and green tea processing were carried out in our garden, and the success was achieved. In 1965, excellent tea plants were introduced from Zhejiang. The tea was named "Qingdao Chunming" by the national professional department at that time and won the "National Science Conference Award". Since then, the technological process has been gradually improved, with its pure tea color and mellow taste.

Tingtao Pavilion

It is located at the southern foot of Taiping mountain at the top of ten mountains in Qingdao, overlooking Badaguan in the South and Development Zone in the East. On a sunny day, the blue sea and the blue sky, the breeze, the pines and the surging sea waves make it known as "Tingtao Pavilion". In 1995, the activity of "I plant a memorial tree" was carried out. City leaders and people from all walks of life planted a beautiful winter forest, green trees and red flowers around it.

French house

Founded in the 1920s, located at the southern end of the Taiping mountains, it is a French style villa designed by Russians. It echoes with Badaguan and Haitian Hotel, close to the mountain and the sea, just like a beautiful landscape painting. Before liberation, the French building was always a leisure place for warlords and capitalists. It was once the villa of Miss Kong Xiangxi. After liberation, the central leadership came to Qingdao and visited the building many times. French building is popular among tourists because of its free and romantic style, and it can be described as "picture in picture".

China Japan Friendship Park

In the spring of 1981, more than 600 plants of 24 species of cherry blossoms were introduced from Shimonoseki, Japan. In 1982, more than 1000 plants of 5 species of Rhododendron were introduced from Fukuoka, Japan. They were planted together in the center of the botanical garden and spelled "China and Japan". In 1994, our city established a friendship city with Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, and 500 cherry blossoms were given away by Japan. They were planted here and erected a monument to commemorate this garden, which is called "China and Japan" Japan Friendship Park. Every spring, the lawn in the garden is green and the azalea and cherry blossom compete for each other, which can be called a major landscape of the botanical garden.

Fine Botanical Garden

Qingdao botanical garden, which was built in October 2004, mainly focuses on botanical garden, with elegant garden sketches. In the landscape layout, we strive to enrich the landscape and make full use of the waterscape, the "soul" of the garden, which runs through the north and South; according to the natural mountains, the winding paths and bow shaped bridges paved provide visitors with a quiet and elegant place for plant science appreciation, communication and leisure.

The whole garden shows the close relationship between mountain, stone, water and plants, forming a landscape of "clear spring and stone flow".

There are 96 varieties, 948 trees and shrubs, including winter resistant, five needle pine and Magnolia grandiflora, planted on the cold season lawn of nearly 10000 square meters. Among them, 6 kinds of plants from the United States were introduced. The plants of each variety are marked with the middle name, family name, scientific name, distribution and use of the plant. The meandering path paved in the lawn enables tourists to get closer to the plants, get the opportunity to communicate with the plants in viewing and leisure, and increase the popular science knowledge.

The establishment of Qingdao botanical garden is a preliminary attempt based on the nature and function of the botanical garden. In the future, we will continue to build all kinds of special gardens and functional ecological gardens of the botanical garden, so as to make the botanical garden a real plant kingdom.

Forest paradise

Qingdao Forest Park was built in Qingdao botanical garden and opened to the public on October 1, 1997. In 1998, the second phase of construction was carried out, expanding the park area and adding new projects. The expanded Forest Park covers an area of more than 100 mu. It is a large-scale outdoor forest park integrating leisure, fitness and entertainment in the urban area of Qingdao.

The park is known as "xiaolaoshan" for its undulating terrain, well-organized valleys, dense forests, hills and lakes, beautiful environment and fresh air. The park is surrounded by mountains and rivers, beautiful scenery and traditional amusement projects. There is a 70 meter long air bridge in the park.

The bridge is like a white sail riding the wind and breaking the waves; there is a walking steel wire, walking on the steel wire, as if you are on the stage of acrobatics; when you hold the pulley tightly with your hands and jump into the air, it is like flying in the sky; when you lie on the hammock with a long swing, you will really realize that the forest paradise is worthy of being a paradise on earth. There are also forest baths, Linyuan fishing, water yachts, kiosks, all inclusive. Large scale forest slideway, European "little flying man" bungee jumping, high-altitude gliding, water roller, fresh and exciting, all thrilling projects let you enjoy a long breath after your scalp numb. In May 2001, the main gate, parking lot and main gate scenic area of the park were reconstructed, making the whole botanical garden look brand new
