Houxi in Three Gorges

Houxi in Three Gorges

The Three Gorges Houxi scenic spot is located in the Xiling Gorge Scenic Spot of Yichang City, formerly known as xianrenxi eco-tourism area, 10 kilometers away from the center of Yichang city. It was officially incorporated into the Xiling Gorge Scenic Spot in 2014, becoming one of the five major scenic spots. It is a national key scenic spot and AAAA tourist scenic spot. The Three Gorges Houxi scenic spot consists of fairy cableway, water curtain cave and monkey park. It is famous for its dangerous peaks, grotesque rocks, different caves, beautiful waterfalls, beautiful pools, abundant fog and lush forest. It is an eco-tourism area with monkey culture as its theme.

General situation of Houxi in Three Gorges

Houxi in the Three Gorges was originally named Xianren river. Xianren river is a secluded valley at the mouth of Xiling Gorge. It originates from yingzibao mountain, with a total length of 6.8 km. It has beautiful natural scenery with bamboo bracts and pines on both sides, thick shade blocking out the sun, and mountain flowers in full bloom. Legend has it that someone once saw the fairy take a shower and make-up in the stream, so it is called Xianren stream, also known as Xiannv stream. There are more than 200 kinds of trees and more than 180 kinds of animals in Xianren stream. The forest coverage rate is about 98%. The air is rich in fenduojing, which has bactericidal effect and good effect on the treatment of diseases. It is a good place for "forest bath".

Scenery

The Three Gorges Houxi scenic spot consists of three major scenic spots.

Fairy cableway: the fairy cableway has a total length of 888 meters, a height drop of 123.8 meters, and 68 double seats. It is the only tourist cableway in Yichang city. Sitting on the ropeway, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Xianren River, which makes you feel relaxed and happy.

Shuilian Cave: the total length of the cave is 1180 meters, the cave area is 3000 square meters, warm in winter and cool in summer, and the constant temperature is 18C all the year round. It is famous for its deep body, dense landscape, peculiar shape and exquisite. Inside the cave, the winding path leads to seclusion. There are many different scenes, such as stalagmites, stone pillars, stone mantles, stone hairs, stone stalagmites and so on.

Macaque Paradise: macaques belong to the second-class national key protected wild animals. They have lived in the Three Gorges area for a long time. Li Bai, a famous poet of the Tang Dynasty, also described the situation in his poem "early departure from Baidi city". Houxi scenic area of Three Gorges makes use of this unique advantage to build the largest wild macaque Park in the Three Gorges area after domesticating and training the wild macaques in the scenic area.
