Qingdao Bay Bridge, also known as Jiaozhou Bay Cross Sea Bridge, is the starting section of G22 Qingdao Lanzhou expressway, a part of the highway network framework of "five vertical, four horizontal and one ring" in Shandong Province, and the "one bridge" in the "one road, one bridge, one tunnel" of Jiaozhou Bay East-West cross sea channel planned by Qingdao city. Starting from Haier Road in the main urban area of Qingdao and passing through Hongdao to Huangdao, the bridge has a total length of 36.48 km and an investment of 10 billion yuan. It takes four years. Its total length exceeds that of Hangzhou Bay Bridge in China and Chesapeake bridge in the United States. It is the longest cross Sea Bridge in the world today. The bridge was opened to traffic on June 30, 2011. It is a super large sea crossing bridge designed, constructed and built by our country. In 2011, it was listed in Guinness World Records and Forbes magazine, and was awarded the honorary title of "the best bridge in the world".
Jiaozhou Bay Bridge
Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is a cross sea passage of Huangdao District, Chengyang District, Licang District and Jiaozhou City in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China. It is located above Jiaozhou Bay. It is one of the important parts of Qinglan Expressway (< igh < / I < / I < ig22) < / I), and also one of the main urban roads in the northwest of Qingdao city.
The construction of Jiaozhou Bay Bridge was started on December 26, 2006, which was called "Qingdao Bay Bridge";
The main bridge closure project was completed on December 22, 2010, and the whole bridge was connected;
It was named "Jiaozhou Bay Bridge" on June 23, 2011;

Jiaozhou Bay Bridge starts from Haiwan Bridge overpass in the East, crosses Jiaozhou Bay in the upper, connects Hongdao interchange in the middle, and ends at Huangdao East hub overpass and China Shanghai Cooperation Organization local economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone in the West. The total length of the line is 42.23 km, and the total length of the bridge is 31.630 km. The bridge deck is a two-way six lane Expressway with a design speed of 80 km / h.
Construction process
In April 1993, Qingdao Municipal People's government planned and studied the feasibility scheme of "Qingdao sea crossing bridge".
On December 26, 2006, the foundation of Jiaozhou Bay Bridge was laid and construction started, which was known as "Qingdao Bay Bridge".
On February 22, 2007, the first cast-in-place bored pile of Qingdao Bay Bridge was completed on the sea; in May, the civil engineering construction and supervision units of Qingdao Bay Bridge all entered the site, and the construction of the bridge project started in full swing.
On November 22, 2009, Qingdao Bay Bridge completed the closure of the red island channel bridge.
On March 23, 2010, Qingdao Bay Bridge completed the closure of Dagu River Channel Bridge;
On April 23, Qingdao Bay Bridge completed the closure project of Cangkou channel bridge; on June 10, Qingdao Bay Bridge completed the construction project of main line box girder at Qingdao side of Lichun River Interchange;
On September 8, the deck pavement of Qingdao Bay Bridge was carried out;
On November 20, Qingdao Bay Bridge completed the closure project of Hongdao interchange and Hongdao connecting line;
On December 22, the closure of the main bridge of Qingdao Bay Bridge was completed and the whole bridge was connected.
On May 3, 2011, the construction of the eighth bid section of Qingdao bay bridge connection project was completed;
On June 23, Qingdao Bay Bridge was officially named "Jiaozhou Bay Bridge";
On the 30th of the same month, Jiaozhou Bay Bridge was opened to traffic;
On October 1, LED guardrail lights were used for Jiaozhou Bay Bridge.
In November 2015, Jiaozhou Bay Bridge passed the national highway maintenance and management standardization inspection of the 12th Five Year Plan of the Ministry of transport of China.
On November 14, 2016, the bidding for the connecting line project of Jiaozhou Bay Bridge was started.
On March 7, 2017, the construction of the connecting line of Jiaozhou Bay Bridge started;
In October, Jiaozhou Bay Bridge completed the connection project with offshore construction trestle.
On March 30, 2020, the Jiaozhou connecting line of Jiaozhou Bay Bridge will be put into operation.
Bridge location
Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is located in Jiaozhou Bay, Qingdao, Shandong Province, China. It starts from Haiwan Bridge overpass in the East, connects with Jiaozhou Bay expressway through Licunhe interchange, and connects with the design starting point of Jiqing South Line 1 km east of Jiaozhou Bay Expressway on Huangdao side. In the middle of the main line of the bridge, Hongdao interchange is set to connect with Hongdao connecting line. The whole bridge section is composed of < I (National Highway G22) < / I of Qinglan expressway.

Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is composed of the main bridge of shuishangcangkou channel, the main bridge of Hongdao channel, the main bridge of Dagu River channel, the East-West approach bridge, the pylon, the overpass of Huangdao East hub, the overpass of Hongdao interchange and the ramp of Lichun River Interchange. The section of the main bridge is arranged from southwest to northeast.
Design features
Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is mainly composed of Cangkou channel bridge, Hongdao channel bridge and Dagu River Channel Bridge. Cangkou channel bridge adopts double tower parallel thin cable steel box girder cable-stayed bridge, Hongdao channel bridge adopts single tower parallel thin cable steel box girder cable-stayed bridge with main span, and Dagu River channel bridge adopts single tower single column self anchored steel box girder suspension bridge.
Design parameters
The total length of the main line of Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is about 26.707 km, of which the length of the cross sea bridge is 25.881 km, the length of the Huangdao side connection line is 0.827 km, and the length of the Hongdao connection line is 1.3 km.
Cangkou channel bridge adopts (80 + 90 + 260 + 90 + 80) m span layout, with separation tower spacing of 30.5 m, tower column spacing of 20.6 m and tower height of 82.5 m. There are 64 stay cables in the whole bridge.
Hongdao channel bridge adopts (120 + 120) m span layout, the separation tower spacing is 30.5 m, the tower column spacing is 20.6 m, the height is 65 m, a total of 24 stay cables.
Dagu River channel bridge adopts (808 + 260 + 190 + 80) m span layout, with rise span ratio of main span of 1 / 12.53 and rise span ratio of side span of 1 / 18. The pylon is 149 meters high and the main cable saddle is inclined at 1.925 degrees. The wire diameter of the sling is 5.0 mm and the horizontal spacing is 12 M.
Jiaozhou connecting line is 5749 meters long and 18.5 meters wide.
