The former site of Qingdao seaside hotel is located at Huiquan Bay, 23 Nanhai Road. It was built from 1903 to 1904, with a construction area of 5694.29 square meters. It has three floors above ground and one floor below ground. It has brick wood steel structure, red tile slope top and three floors with veranda. The plane is strip-shaped, the layout is rigorous, the central axis is symmetrical, and the main door is in the middle. The whole building is pointed with red brick fair wall and white ash, and some gables at both ends are mixed water walls, which is better than that of other buildings The example is appropriate, concise and bright, with the decoration technique of German medieval residential buildings. At that time, the owner was Qingdao Hotel Co., Ltd. The seaside hotel, once known as Huiquan Hotel and New World Hotel, is the earliest Holiday Hotel in Qingdao. It is operated by the same company as Prince Henry hotel.
From the perspective of architectural plane layout, the seaside hotel is in a symmetrical E-shape. The three horizontal sections of the E-shape form a three row group house with slope top in the north-south direction. The E-shaped vertical section in the east-west direction has an open corridor in the South and guest rooms in the north. The hotel building is of brick and wood structure, and the architect runs through the wood frame in the whole building. Each floor of the three storey seaside hotel is about 4 meters high. The easy to see open corridor and the red slope top cover the veranda form a large area of concave convex contrast on the south facade towards the Bay, which also makes the whole building lighter. When this kind of lightness appears in the midday sun together with the imitation wood frame with more than two-story decoration of the building, the coolness and suitability of the hotel can also be seen at a glance. The architect exposed the wall directly with fair faced bricks, which had an organic connection with the beach of the bathing beach. The hotel courtyard protrudes outwards, with three arched gate openings side by side. The gable is built on the top of the courtyard combined with the roof, and the top is treated as a personalized corner. In the middle of the top of the slope above the corner of the gable, there is also a small decorative tower crown. The hotel has 31 double rooms, several bathrooms, dining room, reading room, salon living room and a dance hall.
