In 1954, after returning to China, Mao Hanli immediately came to Qingdao to work as an associate researcher of the Marine Biology Research Office of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was in charge of the work of the marine research group. No. 36, Fushan Road, is an old dormitory building of the Institute of Oceanography. Mr. Mao lived here for many years. After the "Cultural Revolution", Mr. Mao moved to another new dormitory building also on Fushan road.
