In October 1935, the British Consulate in Qingdao was officially upgraded to the Consulate General after three times of relocation. At the same time, it also took charge of the affairs of the Consulate in Jinan. In December 1941, the consulate was closed by the Japanese military occupation authorities. In December 1945, the British Consulate in Qingdao resumed its business. Later, he was ordered to close the museum on April 21, 1951, and the building was recovered by the Qingdao local government.

The Qing government humiliated the aggressors. It was rebuilt in 1889 and completed in 1890. The existing site is the building rebuilt at that time. The Museum covers an area of 17 mu, 6 Fen, 1.2 mm, and has five houses, all of which are of brick and wood structure. The highest one is the office building, the northwest one (partial second floor) is the staff dormitory and three stables, and the two square buildings on the hillside are the main and Deputy Consul houses. The two-story building in the southern foot of Shandong Province is a dormitory, restaurant and entertainment place. A brick wall and a large iron gate were built around the mountain. On the north side of the river is a three story rectangular building for the Ministry of industry and the patrol house.
