Basic introduction
In the 22nd year of Emperor Qianlong's reign, Tianzhu Zunyan, Sichuan Province, invited the king of Tibet to worship him. After that, incense gradually flourished, so local people advocated to rebuild it. In the 20th year of Jiaqing period, the eight suburbs rebuilt the temple of Empress Dowager. There was still money left for the reconstruction of the temple of the king of Tibetans, which became the building we see today.
There are two halls and two corridors in the temple. The main hall is dedicated to the Bodhisattva of the king of Tibet, and the left and right niches are dedicated to the God and the empress. Sanchuan hall is three rooms wide, without dragon pillars. In front of the hall, there is a pavilion for worshiping. In the temple, there are the statues of the king of Tibet in the Jiaqing period, the plaque of "Tianzhu dignity" in the fourth year of Guangxu period, and the stele of "Chongxing Jingyi garden" on the right wall in the 23rd year of Jiaqing period.
At ordinary times, the right door of dizang king temple is only opened for people to enter and leave. The middle door is opened for people to worship on the first or the fifteenth day of the lunar new year or on the birthday of dizang King Bodhisattva, Zhusheng Niang and Jingzhu zunshen. In a year, only on the 15th day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar will the door of the temple be opened and a grand ceremony be held.
In front of the dizang king temple, there is an old banyan tree about 250 years old, which is about 9 meters high, 3 meters diameter at breast height, 6.1 meters girth, and 50 square meters crown. It is said that "dizang King Bodhisattva belongs to Yin and Yang God, so this banyan tree was planted upside down with its branches, so it is commonly known as" inverted banyan "and belongs to" Yin tree ". According to temple officials, the mother tree part of the old banyan tree has withered and died, and what is alive now is the new tree which was grown from the aerial roots of the trunk before and combined into a new trunk, which is very special.
Temple History
On ordinary days, the gate of the temple is always closed and only the left door is opened. The pilgrims are sparse, which makes people feel lonely and gloomy. In fact, this is the "Yin Temple", which is dedicated to the Bodhisattva king of Tibet, who is in charge of the "administrative power" of the underworld. In addition, it is also dedicated to the ten halls of Yan Jun, Jing Zhu Gong and Zhu Sheng Niang.
In the temple of the king of Tibetans, the Bodhisattva of the king of Tibetans was worshipped, while the worshippers were Zhusheng Niangniang, Shidian Yanluo and Jingzhu zunshen. Dizangwang temple is a simple and solemn temple, with the symmetrical architectural form of the center of the central axis. The main structure is in the form of lifting beam and wearing bucket. The eaves of Sanchuan hall are raised by swallow tail, and the roof of the main hall is in the form of one-stop. Dizangwang Bodhisattva Temple is a historic temple with a long history. After assessment, it is a national third level historic site.
In Lugang area, those who are seriously ill or in distress at home will go to the temple of Bodhisattva king of Tibet to pray for disaster relief. Therefore, it is a very unique and important temple. The dizangwang temple in Lugang, Changhua, was founded in the second year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. It was originally a small temple built with grass and reed. In the 22nd year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, it was rebuilt into a brick temple. Until the 20th year of the reign of emperor Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty, the temple was rebuilt with the surplus funds from the reconstruction of Tianhou palace.
Ghost Festival
The Bodhisattva of the king of Tibet opens the ghost gate in the middle Yuan Dynasty
Every year on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, on the day of Zhongyuan Pudu, the temple fair of the king of Tibetans opens three doors, the most special of which is the "ghost door" on the right side of the door. The dizangwang temple in Lukang is a temple with simple plane and simple structure. It is built symmetrically according to the central axis. From the front to the back, except for the square in front of the temple, it is arranged as Sanchuan hall, Danlong hall, worship hall and main hall in sequence. The dizangwang Bodhisattva Temple is a central axis along the northeast to the southwest, and the overall configuration is a typical long axis plane.
The Bodhisattva of the king of Tibet opened the "gate of ghosts" and let all the ghosts "good brothers" who had been shut in the underworld for a whole year come out to play in the world of Yang. In order to prevent the harassment of good brothers, every family prepares abundant sacrifices for worship, which is called "Purdue". In the early morning of the first day of the seventh lunar month, the hell opens the ghost gate, so that all ghosts suffering in the underworld can rush back to the Yangjian for a feast. Closing the ghost gate is a custom relative to opening the ghost gate. After the king of Tibet Bodhisattva opened the ghost gate, every family would worship the rich dishes at the gate, insert a stick of incense on each dish, and then burn paper money.
