Historical records
Yingtian temple, covering an area of about 40 mu, is built close to the mountain and is majestic.
Yingtian temple has a long history. It was first built in the reign of emperor Tianjian of Liang Dynasty, and then gradually expanded in scale. According to the old county annals, "in the early Qing Dynasty, the temple was built again, and the abbot kept the kitchen. The winding music was deep, and the clouds and mountains were covered with bamboo trees. It was named" the temple in the county was the oldest, and it was given the name by emperor Fu Zong of the Tang Dynasty ". This is the reason why emperor Fu Zong of the Tang Dynasty stayed here to avoid the chaos of Huangchao. Therefore, the name of the temple was given by the emperor, and it did not change after the change of dynasties, so the old name was not handed down to the world.
In the spring and Autumn Annals of the Ten Kingdoms, Xuanhe Huapu, Shuji and other ancient books, as well as in the dictionary of Chinese Buddhist culture written by Zhang Gong in recent years, there are records or entries in the poems, calligraphy and paintings corresponding to Tiansi. The complete Tang poetry, the old Shuangliu county annals and Huayang county annals all contain Ouyang Jiong's seven character ancient style "tiying Tianwang mural song" written by the former Shu Hanlin scholar in the Five Dynasties.
Prosperous period
Yingtian temple is not like Manjusri temple, Zhaojue temple and other temples, which are full of incense all day long, believers are weaving, bells and chimes are ringing, and rituals are constant. However, many people come here to burn incense and worship Buddha.
Since the abbot of Buddhist wisdom in 1990, four new halls, TAPI pagoda, Putong pagoda, and living rooms have been built. On the poetry screen near the Dabei hall, Ouyang Jiong's long poem is engraved in front, and then the Jade Buddha Hall of Buddhist wisdom is engraved with the five character ancient style of Kaiguang, which is quite "the rhyme of poets of different generations".
Buddhist culture
In Yingtian temple, there are many books and couplets written by mages everywhere, which contain Zen Buddhism and embody strong Buddhist culture.
Due to the age-old, the Qing Dynasty architectural paint in the temple faded, and the main hall has been a dangerous building, which is in urgent need of repair. According to the monks in the temple, it is mainly due to the lack of funds and is in the process of raising funds. "The mountain is not high, there are immortals is the name", the temple monks and residents are very simple, warm, all give praise.
