Qingxiuyuan, located in Ji'an Township, Hualien County, has been listed as a national third-class historic site by the government. It is the only Japanese Temple in Taiwan that has been completely preserved since the Japanese occupation. During the Japanese occupation period, the monastery was the main stronghold of a large number of Japanese immigrants. At that time, in order to make the local Japanese immigrants live at ease, the Japanese built the "Yoshino bujiao Institute" here. At that time, the main gods worshipped by the bujiao Institute were master Hongfa, King budaiming and vaishama. Later, after Japan was defeated and left, the bujiao Institute was taken over by the local 6767 residents and changed to worship Sakya As a result, they have become today's "qingxiuyuan.". In addition to being the religious center of the Japanese at that time, the monastery also had the functions of a medical center, a classroom room, a funeral and a legal service office. The architecture of qingxiuyuan follows the Japanese traditional structural form, and the structural form is mainly wood frame system. The whole building has a typical Edo style. When the traditional Japanese architecture is integrated into Taiwan, it presents the unique style of "qingxiuyuan". Today, the monastery is not only the most complete shrine in Eastern Taiwan during the Japanese occupation, but also one of the most important tourist attractions for Japanese to visit Taiwan.
