Luoyang Yellow River Xiaolangdi Scenic Spot

Xiaolangdi Water Conservancy Scenic Spot of the Yellow River is composed of Xiaolangdi water control project area, ecological protection area behind the dam, patriotic education exhibition hall and Three Gorges of the Yellow River. The scenic spot is located on both sides of the north and the south. The south bank is the Northeast Branch of Gushan, and Lushan is the highest point of the scenic spot. From here, you can overlook the panoramic view of the dam and feel the beautiful scenery of nature. There are Taihang Mountain and Wangwu mountain on the north bank. It is a large-scale ecological garden based on Xiaolangdi project and characterized by mountain, water, forest and grass. Xiaolangdi Scenic Spot of the Yellow River, located in Mengjin County, 40 kilometers north of Luoyang, is an important scenic spot of "three points and one line" tourism in Henan Province.

Historical causes

Xiaolangdi water control project is a key project for harnessing and developing the Yellow River. It is a key project of the eighth five year plan. The project was closed in 1997 and completed at the end of 2001.

Xiaolangdi is located on the main stream of the Yellow River 40 km north of Luoyang, Henan Province, 130 km away from Sanmenxia Reservoir and 115 km away from Huayuankou in Zhengzhou. It is the only control project under Sanmenxia of the main stream of the Yellow River that can obtain large storage capacity.

Xiaolangdi reservoir is located in the Shanxi Henan Yellow River Gorge which passes through Zhongtiao Mountain and Wangwu mountain, with a total length of 130 km and a total area of 278 square kilometers.

After the closure of Xiaolangdi dam, more than 20 scenic spots such as Baiya mountain, Hongya mountain, Huanglu mountain and the majestic dam of the reservoir area and the Yellow River Gorge in Shanxi and Henan Province complement each other, forming a natural landscape of lakes and mountains, thousands of islands and "high gorge out of Pinghu", which makes Xiaolangdi reservoir a large tourist area composed of natural scenery and water conservancy projects.

The Three Gorges of the Yellow River is the essence of Xiaolangdi Dam and Wang Wu Shan. It is located 20 kilometers upstream of the dam of the Xiaolangdi Dam reservoir, with a total area of 40 square kilometers. It is the essence of Xiaolangdi Dam scenic spot. Bali hutong is located in the narrowest part of the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River. The broken walls on both sides of the river are as sharp as possible, and the river in the middle is surging. The three canyons have their own styles: Gushan gorge is miraculous, with thousands of walls standing; Longfeng Gorge is winding and winding; Dayu gorge is open and stretching, with thousands of sights.
