Fengkai National Geopark is located in Fengkai County, Zhaoqing City, northwest Guangdong Province. It is located in the upper reaches of Xijiang River, adjacent to Wuzhou City, Guangxi Province, and on the Tropic of cancer. In August 2005, the Ministry of land and Resources approved it as the fourth batch of national geoparks. The huge dome shaped landscape composed of Yanshanian granite, Paleozoic carbonate karst landscape, and Zhangjiajie type sandstone columnar peak forest landscape formed by Devonian quartz sandstone in the park have concentrated the vicissitudes of 500 million years in western Guangdong and recorded the evolution history of Lingnan paleoanthropology.

The geological tourism resources in the park have high aesthetic value and are rare tourism resources on the Tropic of cancer. Each type of geological landscape, such as man's spot, strange stone, thousand layer peak forest and carbonate karst landform, is unique and spectacular, which is a rare geological wonder at home and abroad. The distribution of geological scenic spots in the Geopark is also extremely concentrated, with many types, rich contents, strong typicality and well preserved. The Geopark is good at the types of geological landforms, and the ancient human sites and monuments are icing on the cake. In the narrow area, there are rich geological relics, concentrated the great changes of 500 million years in the west of Guangdong, recorded the evolution history of ancient human beings in Lingnan, and formed a grand tourism park with a collection style. The total area of the park is 1326 square kilometers, and the area of main geological relics is 117 square kilometers.

Cause of formation

From the early to the middle of the early Paleozoic, the area was deposited by shallow sea facies. Caledonian movement uplifted and folded the crust. Influenced by the Variscan movement, there are late Paleozoic marine deposits in the heerkou Liandu and Nanfeng Jinzhuang belts. Then, affected by the Indosinian Yanshan movement, the area was uplifted into land and suffered long-term weathering and denudation. In the late Yanshanian period, an inland basin occurred in Jinzhuang Chang'an area, where a set of terrigenous clastic rocks and volcanic rock assemblages were deposited. The Himalayan movement made the area slightly folded and the lake basin disappeared. The neotectonic movement produced multistage river terraces and multistage horizontal caves.

Daphnite shichengshan

Large porphyry - Stone Mountain, smooth surface, complete, no cracks. In front of the ever-changing mountains, the round shape is incomparably harmonious. At the foot of the mountains are the evergreen fields. In the sunrise or sunset, the heaven like scenery extends infinitely. In front of them, a stream flows away slowly. This kind of moving aesthetic feeling melts the unique poetic landscape of Lingnan, and reflects the vigorous and mighty spirit in the fine embellishment. It is elegant, comfortable and memorable. On the other hand, the colorful streaks on the surface of the rapakite, like cloth, seem to be uncoordinated. For this reason, the scene full of endless charm is heavily smeared with a few strokes, and combined with some parts of the rock to form a variety of strange shapes, such as the Giant Buddha, like the palm of the hand, as if making some imaginative notes for the origin of the rapakite. The integration of the great boulder wonder and the surrounding landscape constitutes a unique and beautiful scenic spot. At present, it is Ayers Rock, the national symbol of Australia, that can be compared with Australia in landscape. The difference is that the Ayers Rock is composed of layered sandstone, standing out on the desert. There are tens to hundreds of meters deep gullies crisscrossing on the hillside, and the mountain is not complete.

The karst landforms in Kai Geopark are composed of many peaks, with undulating peaks and bases connected for several miles, forming a beautiful natural scroll. Karst landforms are embedded in a large area of weathering and denudation landforms of clastic rocks and granite, which complement each other and increase the diversity and vividness of the landscape.

Thousand layer peak forest

It is composed of sand shale layers with different thickness. The surface of the peak forest is rough, but almost perpendicular to the ground. It is a very rare peak forest landform with magnificent and peculiar shape. Yellow, orange red, cyan, gray and other colors of rocks are rhythmically arranged with each other, competing with the trees on the cliff. The mountain stream at the foot of the peak forest is quiet and flowing. If there are no high and low, rugged and undulating rocks, the clear water can hardly be seen. But it is precisely because of it that this magnificent peak forest is created. Its scenery and meaning give people infinite philosophical wisdom. The beauty of the thousand layer peak forest is comparable to that of the sandstone peak forest in Zhangjiajie, but they have their own merits and are hard to win.

The Geopark is very large, divided into several scenic spots, including 80 yuan for Longshan scenic spot, 30 yuan for qiancengfeng scenic spot, 10 yuan for Huangyandong scenic spot, and free for Yangchi ancient village. Dabanshi scenic spot itself costs 15 yuan for admission, but there is often no management, that is, no one sells tickets, so if you go alone, it is equivalent to free admission. The package ticket of three scenic spots is 100 yuan. In addition, the height is 1. Children under 2 meters are free of charge and must be accompanied by an adult parent for 1 hour. 2 M-1. Half ticket is required for children of 5 meters.
