Linqing relic pagoda, also known as canal relic pagoda, is one of the sixteen scenes in the old Linqing Dynasty. At night, when the boat sails into the Linqing canal, the monks in Yongshou temple can hear the sound of ringing the bell, so it's called "ta'an Wenzhong". The old Linqing pagoda was in Yongshou temple. In the past, the relic tower was the landmark of Linqing, an international commercial city.

Located on the East Bank of Beiwei canal, the relic tower is a brick tower with imitation wooden structure. It was built in 1611. The tower is octagonal in plane, 4.9 meters in length, 6.4 meters in circumcircle radius, 9 floors, 53.44 meters in height. The bottom door is to the south, and the base is made of stone. There are 8 doors and windows on each floor, 4 light and 4 dark. The outer eaves are of brick and wood structure, and the ceramic brackets are supported by lotus flowers. The tower is equipped with the central column of the sky tower and the symmetrical corner shaped stairs, which can climb roundly and climb to the top of the tower. The pagoda is shaped like a helmet, which is majestic and magnificent in the distance. Each corner overhanging eaves system has the bronze bell, the wind shakes the bell to ring, the sound shocks four fields.

This tower, together with TongZhou lamp tower, Hangzhou Liuhe tower and Zhenjiang Wenfeng tower, is known as the "four famous towers of the canal".

A long time ago, the land on both sides of Weihe River was rich in water and farmland, and people lived a comfortable life. They all regarded this land as a blessed land. It is said that the land would become less severe after the disaster, so it was named Linqing.

It is also said that Linqing City was built near the Daqing River (Weihe). Anyway, people are proud of living on this land and love it very much.

There is an unexpected situation. Listen to my grandmother, I don't know when there is a thousand year old king in the Weihe River. He can call the wind and the rain. When he is angry, he can make waves. When he is angry, he can bring down thousands of houses. When he is angry, he can make thousands of acres of fertile land go to waste. When he is howling, he can make thousands of children cry. They usually bully men and women and do all kinds of evil. People can no longer see the beautiful and happy scene like a paradise.

This water demon has set a rule with the people on both sides of the Strait. Every year, thousands of tons of grain, thousands of tons of rice, plus a pair of boys and girls. Otherwise, you will all become shrimps, crabs, fish and turtles. How dare people on both sides of the Strait not listen? A little resistance will be flooded embankment revenge, only to live with patience.

Some people can't bear to bully and go to other places, some young people are not willing to be humiliated and go to the river to fight with the devil to the death, which has become its meal.

People living in terror can only pray to God to get rid of harm for the people. Seeing this by the eye of Nanhai Guanyin Bodhisattva, he was merciful and ready to get rid of the devil. He stepped on the auspicious cloud, came here, threw the jade vase in her hand into the river, recited the incantation and skillfully used the magic, and then put the monster and a river into the bottle.

With his finger as a pestle, he poked a kilometer deep well, put the monster into the well and covered it. He invited Luban to build a pagoda on it.

When he left, the Bodhisattva didn't take the willow branches from the Yujing vase, so there were many willows on both sides of the Strait, just like that.

Build a pagoda with a hundred disciples

Lu banye was invited to bring 100 disciples to build the pagoda. After ten years of construction in October and ten days, the pagoda was finally built on this day. When it was finished, Lu banye said to all the disciples, "it's finished today. Let's get ready for the construction."! Today I invite you to eat dumplings to celebrate.

The disciples went to work happily. Luban stopped the youngest disciple and said, "make a fire with me.". I followed the master.

See Master, be punished

The little apprentice was very puzzled. When will the dumplings eaten by 100 people be ready? The master asked him to boil the water. I don't know what the master was doing. After a while, the pot was boiling.

The master said to the apprentice, "turn your face away, apprentice". The apprentice obediently turned his face. He just didn't know what the master was going to do. He couldn't help curiosity, so he secretly turned his face to see the master. He saw that the master was taking off his pants and squatting on the edge of the pot to make dumplings. The apprentice was scared to close his eyes. He only felt a fit of disgust, and he was shocked I've heard master's advice.

Master said: "turn around and make a fire"! After boiling, all the disciples were called to have a bowl of dumplings with thin skin and big stuffing. The disciples only called "Xiang, Xiang...", but they couldn't eat it.

All the disciples had nothing left to eat. After eating, master Luban said to all the disciples, "disciples, if you eat my dumplings, you will become immortals. You will live forever.".

At this time, the little disciple was too late to repent, and Luban said to him, "your blessings have not come yet. Practice for another thousand years."! So I let him drink a bowl of soup, and then I said to him, "after a thousand years, there will be seven Qi and seven donkey riders. This tower will fall down, and then you will become an immortal. This bowl of soup will make you live for a thousand years." after that, I took ninety-nine disciples to the fairyland, leaving only one little disciple.

Linqing tower still stands on the edge of Wei River. Who knows where Luban's little apprentice is?

Once upon a time, Linqing tower was not in this place, but beside a small village called "Ta tou".

At that time, there was a lot of water in the ancient Wei canal. Since there was water, there would be floods and dry waters. When the people expected the crops to live, sometimes the crops were flooded, but sometimes they could not even water them.

So we went to worship the Jade Emperor and the God of the river, praying for good weather and good food for us, and praying for peace on the river, so that people without land could support their families.

Gods borrow cattle

Finally one day, the Jade Emperor asked about it. Taibai Jinxing said, in fact, there are treasures in this place, but they didn't use them. So the Jade Emperor was very happy to hear that, and sent Taibai Jinxing to do it.

On this day, an old man came to the nearby village to borrow cattle from the villagers. The villagers were very simple, and they didn't catch up with the busy farming recently. Seeing the old man's loyalty and charity, they agreed to him.

The old man first gave some food money and left. The villagers were very happy. However, the villagers later inquired about each other, but they were surprised. It turned out that he had borrowed all the cattle from the cattle farmers in the surrounding villages, and the old man's saying was the same: "I'll use your cattle one day. I'll feed enough water that day. I'll lead them at night and return them at dawn.

Don't let the cow be too tired that day. Don't lend it to others. " And it's the same day! "What does he want to borrow so many cows for?" So when he comes that day, he must ask clearly.

But the old man didn't appear in the three mountains until sunset that day. According to the old man, the villagers fed the cattle with water, but found that the cattle had been sleeping quietly all night.

Just when people were wondering, when they went to see the cattle at dawn, they saw that the cattle were sweating and their hair was all wet. It seemed that they had done a lot of work. The villagers had never seen their own cattle before. So they went out to inquire and found that the cattle of every family were in the same situation.

Everyone looked at each other, only to think that the old man was an immortal, Niu Li had been borrowed by him. But where did the cow go that night?

Some days later, it was said that the pagoda at the edge of Tatou village had disappeared overnight. People were very surprised. Some old people went to the place where the pagoda was to burn incense. It was also said that there was suddenly another pagoda on the Bank of Weiyun River, which was surrounded by the light of Buddha and made people look up and worship.

People suddenly realized that our cattle had gone to move the tower. It is said that there are two deep ruts in the Hetao of the Wei canal, which were left by the tower moving in those years.

After a period of time, people were still talking about this strange thing. Another man came to the village. He was a craftsman and looked strange. He was shouting every day: "big Curie, big Curie!" At that time, people were not well-off. If the pots and bowls were accidentally cracked, they would be reluctant to throw them away. The craftsmen were asked to sew them with iron wire curium, which is called "curium". The curium can be used again. When people took out bowls, the craftsman shook his head. When he took out pots, he still shook his head. Later, someone carried out a cracked vat for pickles in Jimei soy sauce garden, and he even shook his head. People are very strange, a villager said angrily: "you want to curize big, how big is it? The tower by the river is big. Go to curium it! " The craftsman listened, nodded and turned away.

Now the villagers are even more strange. What's the matter? When someone thought of following the craftsman and chasing out of the village, they found that the craftsman had disappeared. After a few days, some curious people went to the bottom of the tower to see what happened. They were surprised to find that in the northwest direction of the tower, there were two big iron bars like the shoulder pole climbing on the tower, and they put the tower on the corner! As a result, people were awed by the pagoda and knelt down one after another to pray for the gods' forgiveness and protection. As a result, the pagoda became more and more fragrant, and the story has been handed down for a long time.
