Lu Xun's tomb is located at No. 2288, North Sichuan Road, Hongkou District, Shanghai. Lu Xun died in Shanghai on October 19, 1936. The original body was buried in area F, east of Wanguo cemetery, and then moved to Shanghai Lu Xun Park (Hongkou Park).
Lu Xun's tomb, facing south, has a mouth shaped plane and is made of Suzhou Jinshan granite, covering a total area of 1600 square meters. In the middle of Lu Xun's tomb is a rectangular green space surrounded by melon seeds and Euonymus japonicus. In the center of the green space, there is a sitting statue of Lu Xun.
In March 1961, Lu Xun's tomb was approved as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
In June 2001, Lu Xun's tomb was approved as "national patriotic education demonstration base".
Historical evolution
On October 22, 1936, Lu Xun's funeral ceremony was held in the auditorium of Wanguo cemetery. Later, his body was buried in area f on the east side of Shanghai cemetery, numbered 406-413 acupoints, covering an area of 50 square meters.
In 1952, the Ministry of culture and other relevant departments in East China chose to build a new tomb near Lu Xun's former residence and Hongkou Park.
In January 1956, the State Council decided to move the tomb on the 20th anniversary of Lu Xun's death. In the middle of January of the same year, a committee for the relocation of Lu Xun's tomb was established in Shanghai, with Mayor Chen Yi as its chairman. In early June of the same year, the central government approved the design plan of Chen Zhi, a design expert, as the construction plan of Lu Xun's tomb, and allocated 900000 yuan for the project.
On July 19, 1956, Lu Xun's tomb was officially opened.

Architectural pattern
Lu Xun's tomb is located in the northwest corner of Lu Xun Park in Shanghai. The front of the tomb is covered with velvet turf. The tomb is facing south, with a mouth shaped plane, and is made of Suzhou Jinshan granite.
There is a memorial Pavilion for Lu Xun in front of Lu Xun's tomb. In the middle of the cemetery is a rectangular green space surrounded by melon seeds and Euonymus japonicus. At the front of the green space is a horizontal marker stone of "national key cultural relics protection unit". There is a sitting statue of Lu Xun behind the center of the green space. The base of the statue is inlaid with four pieces of granite, and the upper part is embossed with a decorative pattern. The cloud part of the title page of the tomb is designed by Lu Xun himself, and the year of Lu Xun's birth and death: "1881-1936" is engraved under the pattern.
A row of cypress trees are planted outside the passageways on both sides of Lu Xun's tomb green space. After going up through the passageways, there is a square platform that can accommodate 500 people. Two Magnolia grandiflora trees are planted on the left and right sides of the platform, and then the stone column flower gallery and Wisteria are planted on the outside, under which there are long chairs. On the front of the platform is a large tombstone with a width of 10.20 meters and a height of 5.38 meters. Mao Zedong's inscription: "the tomb of Mr. Lu Xun" is engraved in the center, and the inscriptions are inlaid with gold. Below Lu Xun's tombstone is the grave where Lu Xun's coffin was placed. On the top of the grave, there are six granite slabs. On the left and right of the grave are cypresses planted by Lu Xun's wife Xu Guangping and his son Zhou Haiying. Behind the monument is a screen like Earth mountain, planted with pines and cypresses, camphors, cherry blossoms, Chimonanthus, osmanthus trees, etc.

The total height of the bronze statue of Lu Xun in Lu Xun's tomb is 1.71 meters. It was designed and built by Xiao Chuanjiu, a professor of Zhejiang Academy of fine arts.

Lu Xun (September 25, 1881 - October 19, 1936), once named Zhou Zhangshou, later changed his name to Zhou Shuren, once named Yushan, later changed his name to Yucai, and studied in Sendai medical school in Japan. "Lu Xun" is the pseudonym he used when he published "Diary of a madman" in 1918. It is also his most influential pseudonym. He was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. He is a famous writer, thinker, democratic fighter, an important participant in the May 4th New Culture Movement, and the founder of modern Chinese literature. Holding public commemoration activities on Lu Xun's Memorial Day is a traditional commemorative activity of leaders and masses at all levels under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, which began in 1936 and lasted for many years. After Lu Xun's tomb was moved to Lu Xun Park in 1956, there was a long-term memorial ceremony in the park.
October 19, 2018 is the 82nd anniversary of Lu Xun's death. A public commemoration activity was held at Lu Xun's tomb in Lu Xun Park. Representatives from all walks of life and nearly 1000 people from Hongkou district attended the activity.
Cultural relics protection
In March 1961, Lu Xun's tomb was announced by the State Council as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
In October 1986, the Shanghai Municipal People's government determined that the protection area of Lu Xun's tomb is 50 meters around the base, and the building control area is 150 meters.
