GAOTANG Confucian temple is located on the west side of the south head of Beihu road in Gaotang county. It is now a provincial cultural relics protection unit. Built in the 24th year of the Yuan Dynasty, the original Dacheng hall, Zhaobi, Yuegong gate, kitchen, east gate, west gate and other buildings. Confucian temple is the place where Confucius was worshipped and Confucian education was carried out. At the beginning of the high Tang Dynasty, Confucian temple was also an official school. Li kuchan, a master of Chinese painting, studied here when he was young. Just above the South Gate of Dacheng hall is a plaque inscribed by the famous modern calligrapher Mr. Qigong, which is also called Li kuchan's youth reading office.

There is only Dacheng hall in the Confucian Temple of the high Tang Dynasty. Dacheng hall faces south with five rooms wide and three rooms deep. It is 17.7 meters long from east to west and 11.10 meters wide from north to south. Dacheng hall is a single eaves Xieshan style building, mainly with columns, brick walls and beams as the skeleton, supporting the curved and exquisite roof, with brick walls between the external eaves and columns. The bucket arch under the eaves is a decorative component, and the eaves extend outward to protect the columns and beams from the erosion and damage of heavy rain, which also makes the hall more majestic. The front and back of the main ridge of the roof are gray tiles except for three diamond patterns made of yellow and green glazed tiles. In the center of the ridge is a round gourd, with a kiss at both ends.

Around Dacheng hall, a number of Steles and ancient steles have been found, mainly including records of Shitian in Gaotang Prefecture, records of temple reconstruction in Gaotang Prefecture, Daji in Pingding Junggar, completion of reconstruction work in August of the 15th year of Daoguang, dongfanggong temple, a senior official in the Han Dynasty, stele donation, school palace reconstruction in Gaotang Prefecture, stele reconstruction in Guanyin temple, and Jun And so on.

Li kuchan youth reading Office

GAOTANG Confucian temple, also known as Li kuchan youth reading place, is located on the northwest Bank of Yuqiu lake. Once known as Qisheng temple, also known as Wenchang palace, it was the place where Confucius was worshipped in the past, and it was also the school of the past dynasties. It was first built in the Yuan Dynasty. It was rebuilt and expanded many times in the third year of Hongwu (1370), the 48th year of Kangxi (1709) and the seventh year of Qianlong (1742). The main building is Dacheng hall. The hall is 5 rooms wide and 4 rooms deep, covering an area of 275 square meters. It is a Xieshan style building. The front and back of the main ridge at the top are all grey tiles except for three rhombus with yellow green glazed tiles. The bucket arches under the eaves are all decorative accessories, which are not gravity bearing solid arches, obviously in the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty.

The Confucian Temple of the high Tang Dynasty is the earliest artistic enlightenment that Li kuchan, a master of traditional Chinese painting, received in his youth. On the forehead of Dacheng hall, there is a huge plaque of "Li kuchan's youth reading place" inscribed by Qigong. In the hall, there are tables and stools for Li kuchan's youth reading, paper, ink, brush and inkstone used after he became famous, as well as some calligraphy, painting, materials and pictures.
