brief introduction
The national key cultural relic protection unit, located in the chongkanglemen of Hongjiang Ancient Commercial City, was built in the late Xianfeng Period of Qing Dynasty (1860). It is one of the high-level brothel "classes" in Qing Dynasty. It is specially used for entertainment of tycoons and dignitaries. Most of the prostitutes are high-level Geisha with excellent talent and appearance, especially the four famous prostitutes of "Qin, chess, poetry and painting". The whole building has three entrances and three floors. The corridor of each floor is closed, separated and concealed. The entrance and stairs are opened on each floor, which is called "secret road". The interior decoration materials are exquisite and magnificent, and the architectural style has distinct industry characteristics.
Now Shaoxing class is as old as ever, with performances of Chinese ancient brothel literature and art, which is a vivid example to understand Chinese brothel literature, culture and life. On June 10, 2006, Shaoxing ban, together with 17 other ancient buildings, was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Administration of cultural relics.
Industry characteristics
The whole building of Shaoxing class has very obvious industry characteristics, with two into three floors, closed corridor, well separated and highly concealed. Each floor has a number of chic small rooms. On the third floor, there is an overpass connecting the north and south of the cellar house. The window frame and corridor in the building are carved wood, which can imagine the magnificence of that year. Moreover, unlike other cellar houses in ancient shopping malls, most of the cellar houses of wealthy merchants have a small side door beside the main door for servants or workers to go in and out. There are high walls without windows around them. However, each room on each floor of Shaoxing class has a small door and an exit to go downstairs. This is what Hongjiang calls the "secret passage" exit. What is the function of these secret ways? We know that people who come to such high-end places of consumption generally have a certain position in the society. In order to avoid the embarrassment of meeting their acquaintances, we specially set up such a secret passage, which is convenient for them to go in and out, and also reflects the humanized architectural design of brothels.
Among the numerous courtyards in Hongjiang, it is interesting that prostitutes also have their own guild halls, which are called "three imperial palaces".
History eventually belongs to history, and the gorgeous and luxurious brothels are bound to decline and perish with the rapid development of the times. Here, too, is empty, spare fireworks old story, by the world's legend.
