Huayan tower
Huayan tower, ancient Chinese architecture, cultural tourist attractions. There are two Huayan pagodas in China: one is SONGYIN Temple Pagoda located in the north of SONGYIN Town, Jinshan, Shanghai. The temple was built in 1352 and the tower was built in 1380-1384.
Huayan pagoda is the only existing Ming Dynasty Pagoda in Pudong and Punan. Another Huayan pagoda is located in Jinsha of Longquan, commonly known as Jinsha pagoda. It is the most valuable ancient pagoda in Longquan history. It was built in 977, the second year of Taiping Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty.

A brief introduction to the pagoda
According to the records of the stele, "the tower is 150 feet high, and Zhou Guangsan is 15 feet high. It is of square brick and wood structure. Inside the tower, there are steps to rise, cornices to go out, cornice teeth to peck, supporting and blocking wings, bells to ring, melodious and pleasant. It is thought-provoking. It rises from two floors. Zhou Yichong Pavilion worships thousands of Buddhas on the top and offers two Tathagata statues of Sakya Duobao on the bottom.
The Huayan pagoda, with a structure different from that of ordinary floating pictures, is a rare place within a hundred li of Zhou Dynasty, and has become a famous scenic spot for a time. "
Two renovations
It was rebuilt twice in 1775 and 1847. In 1961, the tower was struck by lightning, and the top of the tower was tilted. The government funded to straighten the wood in the center of the tower. However, due to the long history, the wood structures such as the waist eaves, flat seats and Wai Kuo of each floor have been completely destroyed.
Cultural relics protection
On October 22, 1962, Huayan tower was announced as a county-level cultural relic protection unit. After the establishment of the museum, it was put under the management of the museum. In September 1996, in order to better protect this ancient building, the museum specially equipped fire-fighting equipment for it.
In 1999, the Municipal Cultural Administration Commission and Jinshan District People's Government jointly allocated funds to renovate the Huayan pagoda. By the end of the year, it will return to its former glory.
Layout structure
Since the restoration of Donglin temple in Jinshan in 2007, Huayan tower has become one of the important links in the first-line tourism project of "Huayan tower Donglin Temple Fengjing ancient town", shouldering the glorious mission of carrying forward Chinese classical culture. Huayan tower, also known as Songyin tower, is located in the northeast of SONGYIN Town, Jinshan County.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Songyin Shanyuan was founded. Some monks wrote 81 volumes of Huayan Sutra and raised money to build pagodas. Ming Hongwu 13 years (1380) to start construction. Prosperous period

Painter Zhang Daqian's landscape paintings and his brother Zhang Shanzi's tiger paintings are very precious. The courtyard is full of exotic trees and famous flowers. The plaques written by Zhu Letian, an old Confucian, and Chen Tao, a famous personage, are embedded in prominent places in the temple.
historical significance
At the beginning of the founding of new China, the top of the tower was tilted. In 1961, when lightning struck, the cornice Fang wood dropped from time to time. In 1963, the city and county cultural relics management units renovated the ancient pagoda, righted the giant NANs in the center of the pagoda, removed the broken bricks and rotten wood around, and set up lightning rods.
In 1969, it was renovated and surrounded by walls. It was listed as a municipal cultural relic. Today, there are still bell and drum towers and the main hall of the temple beside the pagoda. The Huayan pagoda bridge is built at Xinbu. The inscriptions on the bridge door are clear and recognizable. The forest of Steles is beside the pagoda. There are several steles of Ming and Qing Dynasties.
