history
The name of Longqiao originated from Song Dynasty. The original wooden bridge has been built and destroyed many times. After the completion of the stone arch bridge, the effect was achieved once and for all. In the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, there were two rows of houses on both sides of the bridge. The houses were not high, but they were exquisite. All the shops are decorated with signboards. They are mainly engaged in small crafts, such as copper pots, copper pots, water pipe bags, wooden combs, needlework, costumes, embroidery, and local style oil cakes and sesame sugar. The shops are prosperous and famous for their products. In the 13th year of Shunzhi (1656), the 20th year of Qianlong (1755) and the first year of Xianfeng (1851), the bridge deck and the left and right embankments of the bridge foundation were repaired successively, and the bridge body was always very strong. According to the records of Sanyuan county annals, in the 44th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, the heavy rain poured down, the river rose sharply, and the torrential flood crossed the bridge. The houses on the bridge deck were washed away, but the stone bridge remained motionless. On May 29th, the 22nd year of the Republic of China, the wind roared, the rainstorm poured, the rolling waves roared, but the stone bridge was the mainstay, as stable as Mount Tai.
In 1982 and 1988, the provincial, municipal and county governments had allocated funds to repair the slope protection on both sides of the bridge and the breast boards on both sides of the bridge. In 1985, a cable-stayed flat bridge was built on top of the ancient bridge. The bridge is 173.28 meters long, 9.7 meters wide and 94.82 meters high. It has the ability of North-South thoroughfare and greatly facilitates the life of residents in the two cities. Gulong bridge, Wolong drinking stream, and Xinlong bridge, flying rainbow hanging in the air, become a beautiful scenery of Sanyuan county.
On April 20, 1992, Gulong bridge was declared as a key cultural relic protection unit by Shaanxi provincial government.
legend
Shangshuqiao
There is an ancient dragon bridge on the Qinghe River in Sanyuan County of Xianyang City, which runs through the north and south of the county. On the river, there is an ancient wooden bridge connecting the north and south cities. It is said that one year when the water of the Qinghe River rose, there was a dragon rushing under the bridge. The bridge was very dangerous. A descendant of Sanyuan named Li Jing cut it with his sword, and the bridge was restored, so it was named Longqiao. This is one of the origins of Longqiao. In the 31st year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, Wen Chun, a three yuan official, lived in Shangshu of the Ministry of industry. In order to benefit Sangzi, he raised money to build a stone bridge. It is said that after the bridge was built, the two cities in the north and the South celebrated for several days. Then the bridge was named Longqiao, also called Shangshu bridge. According to legend, the eight characters of wenshangshu's iron casting birthday are still in the heart of the bridge. This is another story about the origin of Longqiao.
The frog pleads for injustice
One day, the newly appointed Sanyuan county magistrate passed by Longqiao and was stopped by a group of frogs. He couldn't get away. The county magistrate bowed his head and asked, "Why are you blocking my way?"? These frogs are just noisy, and their voices are miserable. The county magistrate felt strange and said, "if you have any grievances, please nod your head. Without waiting for the county magistrate to say more, these frogs jumped down the clear pool at the bottom of the bridge. The magistrate seemed to understand. He went down to the pool and found a dead man with a half leaf mill fan around his neck. In order to solve the case, the county magistrate had a plan in mind. He sent a notice to the Yamen servant, saying that there was half a page of mill fans in the government that needed to be paired. If there was a match, the government would give a thousand gold as a prize. One day, the shopkeeper of qiaonantou tofu shop also handed in half a leaf of the mill fan. The county magistrate sent people to move as usual. This time, it was just the right time, so the truth came out. According to the owner's confession, not long ago, a scholar passed by Sanyuan on his way to the exam. He came from the north city at dusk and had no place to rest. He asked him to stay in the shop at night. That night, seeing that there was some silver in the scholar's bag, he and his wife began to think of murder. Afterwards, they tied half of the family's broken mill fan with hemp rope to the dead man's neck and sank into the pool at the bottom of the bridge. When the case was solved, the county magistrate had another idea of what to do with the mopfan. It's better to spread it all over the bridge. Therefore, this story has been handed down to add color to the dragon bridge.
