Guanghua Bridge

Guanghua bridge, located between xinweidi road and Dongxing Road, is a traffic hub bridge across Haihe River on the central line of Tianjin. It was built in 1977, formerly known as Sixin bridge.

Guanghua bridge is an important river crossing channel between Hexi and Hedong. On May 2, 2006, the reconstruction project of Guanghua bridge began. It was basically completed in June 2007 and opened to traffic on October 12 of the same year.

Two 18 meter span approach bridges are added on both sides of the reconstructed Guanghua bridge The length of the main bridge will be increased from 120 meters to 192 meters before the reconstruction. The bridge deck will also be re divided into lanes, from the original two-way five lane to two-way six lane. The sidewalk will be reduced from 3 meters to 1.5 meters, separating the flow of people and vehicles across the river, facilitating the passage of pedestrians and vehicles, forming a new three-dimensional traffic on and under the Guanghua bridge, reducing the traffic burden on both sides of the Haihe River, So as to comprehensively improve the vehicle capacity of Guanghua bridge, on the other hand, it also eases the traffic pressure of Daguangming bridge, which also plays an important role in the reconstruction period of Daguangming bridge.

Guanghua bridge has been repackaged. The bridge body is mainly silver gray, fashionable and modern. It is known as "Haihe aircraft carrier".

After the renovation of Guanghua bridge, the main span beam of the bridge will lie on the Haihe River like a giant "aircraft carrier". The continuous bottom decoration and the design of the upper railings are integrated. It has a super era flavor, highlights the characteristics of the high-tech era, and makes the landscape effect and function unified in the design. The new image design of Guanghua bridge not only has a strong impact of visual effect, but also has the characteristics of stable and safe bridge construction, reflecting the perfect unity of structure and architectural art. Every detail of Guanghua bridge is close to the characteristics of the aircraft carrier. Among them, the modeling design of the railings is the most representative. The modeling design of each railings is like a "spear" used on the aircraft carrier, full of modern sense.

Construction of Guanghua Bridge

Haihe Guanghua bridge reconstruction project officially started on February 14, 2006.

After Haihe Guanghua bridge was opened to traffic, two spiral shaped pedestrian stairs were added on both sides of Tianjin Guanghua bridge to connect the hydrophilic embankment.
