Shangbahe National Forest Park
Shangbahe National Forest Park is located in the hinterland of the southern foot of the middle Qinling Mountains and the northeast of Ningshan county. It is 148 kilometers away from the provincial capital Xi'an, 2 hours by car; 193 kilometers away from Hanzhong, 2.5 hours by car; 190 kilometers away from Ankang, 2.2 hours by car. The park covers an area of 201 square kilometers, 118 kilometers of North-South Ring Road and 98% of forest coverage. It is the most typical biodiversity area in central and Western China. Shangbahe National Forest Park is divided into Dashaba, jiaoyanggou, yanzhiba, sanguanhe, Pingheliang, xunyangba and other six scenic spots with their own characteristics. There are more than 90 scenic spots, such as ape man Valley, sanjixiang, Qianchi lake, TIANTI stone, Millennium karst cave and ten thousand mu meadow.

Shangbahe National Forest Park is located in the hinterland of the southern foot of the middle Qinling Mountains. It is connected with Huoditang teaching forest farm of Northwest A & F University in the northwest, xinkuang forest farm of Ningdong Forestry Bureau in the northeast, xinkuang township of Ningshan County in the southeast, Yudong village of Chengguan town in the West and Qinglong village of Chengguan town in the south.

The forest area in the park is 24670 hectares, and the forest coverage rate is more than 98%. The forest coverage rate of Ningshan county is 91.6%. Good forest resources constitute the unique forest landscape of the park. As the geological carrier of forest landscape resources in the park, Qinling Mountains span the sky. In AD, there were more than 20 steep peaks, more than 110 narrow and deep valleys, and many peaks, ravines and diverse landscapes. There are 126 species of mammals, 338 species of birds and 1435 species of insects in the forest park. There are 424 species of national protected animals, including giant panda, golden monkey, giant salamander, takin and other rare animals. There are 12 tributaries of Shangba River in the park. Waterfalls, Bitan and streams constitute the park's gorgeous water landscape.
The forest vegetation types of the park include subtropical evergreen deciduous broad-leaved forest, warm temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest, temperate coniferous broad-leaved mixed forest, subalpine coniferous forest and various types of xerophytic shrubs and meadows, accounting for 65% of China's vegetation types. The flora of Forest Park contains 12 geographical elements in the world flora. It is the most abundant forest landscape and the best forest environment in the south of Shaanxi Province. With unique resource and location advantages, it is the leading scenic spot of forest tourism in Ankang area.
Main attractions
Pingheliang is the highest mountain in the south of Shaanxi Province, with the highest altitude of 2868 meters (Pingheliang) and the lowest altitude of 1014 meters (shigoukou) in A.D., with an elevation difference of 1850 meters. It integrates various peaks, valleys, strange rocks and strange rocks, and is the most peculiar and complete scenic spot in the south of Shaanxi Province. The forest park is located in the intersection and transition zone of Palaearctic and Oriental animal species. It is one of the areas with the richest fauna in China and the area with the richest animal resources in Ankang.
Shangba river flows about 12 kilometers in the park, covering an area of about 20 square kilometers. It has 12 tributaries, with a water storage capacity of 1800 cubic meters. It has a variety of water landscapes, such as waterfalls, Bitan, streams and so on. It is the epitome of the hydrological landscape in southern Shaanxi.
