Fujian theological seminary was established in 1983 with the formal approval of Fujian Provincial People's government. In accordance with the policy of "spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical and mass development" formulated by the national Theological Education Commission, it cultivates preachers who adhere to the three self principle and love their country and religion. The college is sponsored by the provincial Christian "two associations" and implements the president responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors. The board of directors is composed of members of the provincial Christian "two associations" meeting, with office, academic affairs office, academic and engineering office and other functional departments.
In 1986, it was moved to the former site of Fuzhou YMCA. In 1990, it was moved to No. 16 Lequn Road, Cangshan District, Fuzhou City. It is in the same courtyard with the two Christian churches in Fujian Province, covering an area of more than four mu. In September 2014, he moved to the new campus, now located at 121 Fuwan Road, Cangshan District. On March 16, 2015, he was approved by the State Bureau of religious affairs to be upgraded to an undergraduate higher Christian Seminary. Current president: Pastor Yue Qinghua.

At present, Fujian Theological Seminary has two campuses: the old campus is located at 16 Lequn Road, Cangshan District, Fuzhou City, and the new campus is located at 121 Fuwan Road, Cangshan District, Fuzhou City
The total construction area of the campus is 17981.4 square meters, which is mainly divided into three parts: worship area, teaching area and living area. Worship area has chapel, bell tower, auxiliary hall, piano room, etc.; teaching area has classroom, library, academic lecture hall, multi-function conference room, office, etc.; library has more than 80000 books at present; living area has canteen, dormitory, gym, playground, etc.
In February 2007, the Fuzhou municipal government supplied a piece of 23.29 mu land at the allocated price for the construction of the new campus; in May 2007, the provincial development and Reform Commission approved the construction project of the new campus; in August of the same year, the Fuzhou City Planning Bureau also issued the "construction land planning license". The foundation was laid on May 11, 2010, started on March 22, 2011, and was completed and put into use in September 2014.
Subject setting
On March 16, 2015, approved by the State Bureau of religious affairs, it was upgraded to an undergraduate higher Christian Seminary, enrolling three-year junior college classes and four-year undergraduate classes. According to the school running policy of the National Christian theology Education Commission, the Academic Affairs Office formulates the teaching plan and curriculum. In the first year, it lays a solid foundation, in the second year, it improves comprehensively, in the third year, it expands its vision, and in the fourth year, it conducts theoretical research.
Theology accounts for 70% and Social Sciences 30%. Theology courses mainly include biblical theology, historical theology, systematic theology and practical theology, while social sciences courses include literature, philosophy, law, politics, foreign language, psychology, music and piano. At present, the characteristic courses offered by the college include church management and the history of Fujian Christian Church.
School scale
In 2015, there were 150 divinity students. So far, the college has provided 1137 pastoral personnel for the grassroots churches in Fujian Province, becoming the main force of the church pastoral team in Fujian Province. It has also provided talents for the higher institutions of the Christian Church and participated in serving churches all over the country.

At the beginning of 1983, the college had only three full-time teachers, and now there are 14 full-time teachers, including 12 in professional courses, 1 in doctor's degree and 11 in master's degree, and 2 in public courses, all with master's degree. There are 14 part-time teachers in public courses, including 3 doctors, 5 masters and 6 undergraduates.
The leaders of the Institute also paid attention to the improvement of full-time teachers. In a planned way, they selected teachers to go abroad for long-term and short-term further study through the National Christian churches. Eight of them returned from the United States, Singapore and Hong Kong to obtain doctor's and master's degrees.
