Tiantangzhai, written by Jiang He, is a full-length historical chapter novel published by Wuhan University Press in 2016.
primary coverage
This book is a full-length historical chapter novel, describing the red scarf uprising at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, a national large-scale peasant uprising in history. In the early summer of 1351 A.D., Xu Shouhui, a cloth merchant in Luotian, visited Peng zushi of Bailian cult to plan an uprising. During his visit, he got help from the descendants of Huangmei's Yue family army, Peng yingyu's apprentices, and Honglian, a chivalrous girl, to build an uprising. On the night of the Mid Autumn Festival, people gathered 100000 volunteers to gather in Tiantangzhai, where Xu Shouhui was the founder of the country. The red scarf army took advantage of the situation to attack cities and lands one after another. Tianwanguo finally established its capital, Hanyang, and divided its forces to march all over the country. The development and growth of the red scarf army caused the panic of the yuan court. The prime minister Tuotuo ordered his troops to attack the red scarf army, so an earth shaking war was about to start in the Central Plains. The book is unique in the characteristics and charm of traditional Chinese classical novels, interspersed with historical anecdotes, poetry, song and Fu, folklore and so on. The language is supplemented by popular language, and a lot of folk dialects and sayings are appropriately used to make the book read smoothly and vividly.
