Zhazang Temple
Zhazang temple, a provincial cultural relic protection unit, is 15 kilometers west of Huangyuan county. It was first built in the first year of Yankang in the Eastern Han Dynasty, 1700 years ago.
In the sixth year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty, the third Dalai Lama, sonan jiamucuo, became famous because he went to the temple to preach Buddhist scriptures. At the end of Ming Dynasty, the dispute between Tibetan Buddhism sects in Tibet became more and more fierce, and they all tried their best to expand their influence to Qinghai. The fifth Dalai Lama, Awang luosang, sent his disciples zhazang qujie and Jiajian xirao to meet with the then ruler of Qinghai Gushi Khan, and asked Gushi Khan to be the benefactor. They built a large-scale Gelug temple, which means "zhazang Gadan Quke Temple" Lunsi. So far, zhazang temple has become one of the thirteen largest temples in Anduo area. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, zhazang temple had the most incense and more and more Buddhist activities. Especially for the annual sea worship activities of imperial ministers and Mongolian princes, the Wanggong mansion named "yamen" was built in the temple, which made the temple more grand. However, just as the world is full of changes in wind and rain, this pure land of Buddhism has suffered three major disasters. The first one was in the second year of the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, when Nian gengyao put down the verdict of pingluobuzangdanjin and burned down the virgin forest of zhazang temple. During the reign of emperor Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty, it was a merciless fire that burned down all the sutras and buried them with precious cultural relics and historical books. During the ten-year catastrophe, the temple was destroyed Many Buddha statues were destroyed.
