Lushi salt merchant residence
Lushi salt merchant residence was built in the 20th year of Guangxu reign of Qing Dynasty. It is the largest existing salt merchant residence in Yangzhou and an important relic reflecting Yangzhou salt culture. Since the renovation on April 18 this year, Lushi mansion has become the highlight of the renovation of the ancient canal.
brief introduction
Lushi salt merchant residence is the largest luxury residence of Yangzhou Salt Merchants in the late Qing Dynasty, known as "the first floor of salt merchants". The owner of the house is Lu Shaoxu, a wealthy businessman. According to reports, the house was built in the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of more than 10000 square meters. The construction of the house in that year consumed more than 70000 liang of silver. It has become one of the most dazzling pearls with its continuous architectural community and exquisite architectural style, which is worthy of new attraction of Yangzhou ancient city culture.
Internal structure
Lu's salt merchant residence is located next to Kangshan Cultural Park, with a grand and elegant gate facing south. The brick carvings on the lintel are extremely exquisite. Although they have gone through many vicissitudes, the figures with different expressions can still be distinguished from each other. They are lively and vivid. Among them, Huaihai hall, Lanxin hall, Hanbi hall and Yiqing building are connected with each other. The hall is large and can hold hundreds of banquets. Walking inside the house, from the first entrance to the fourth entrance, there are small gardens on both sides of the patio, with rockery, flowers and plants, different layout styles and exquisite ideas. Deep into the backyard, the hexagonal pavilion on the helmet top, the stone boat, and the pool in the garden are in perfect harmony.
Protection maintenance
The whole Lu house is elegant and luxurious. Before and after the original nine into the building, more than 200 rooms. After entering the hall, there are two halls, the front hall is the main hall, and the back hall is the second Hall. They are all seven rooms wide, with three of them as the main hall, and the two sides are used for meeting visitors and reading. Then there is the women's hall, and then there is the residential hall, with two entrances, each with seven rooms in width. It is a pity that the most luxurious photo hall, main hall, second Hall and women's hall were destroyed in a big fire. The gatehouse, residential building, Italian garden and Library in Lushi garden are well preserved original buildings. At the back of the house is Lu's garden. There is a pavilion in the southwest and an old Pavilion in the north of the garden. It is simple and desolate under the green trees. There is a long corridor in front of the old museum, and the moon gate leads to the courtyard. There is a pool in front of the gallery, with rockery, lake and stone in the pool. There is a secret passage through the blue water, which leads to the inner courtyard of the gallery. There is a well decorated library behind the old library, which is well preserved. On the west side of the library, there is an ancient Wisteria tree, which is rare in Yangzhou for more than 100 years. In the early 1950s, it was a military barracks, and the clothing factory of Northern Jiangsu military region was located here. In 1958, when the industry was established, it became a pharmaceutical factory in Yangzhou. Later, it was used by the May 1 food factory. A big fire in 1981 turned the essence of this large and beautifully built Qing building into ashes. After the restoration, the former style and features of Lu's house are preserved, and the present craft and layout are the same as before.
significance
With a depth of more than 100 meters and an area of more than 6100 square meters, Lu house is an important historic site reflecting Yangzhou salt culture. From the appearance, the ancient house is no different from the ordinary house, but when you are in it, a kind of grand atmosphere of "hiding wealth but not revealing" comes to your face. Later, after restoration, not only the ancient buildings gained a new life, but also the prosperity of the salt merchants in the past reappeared.
present situation
